Behind the Beautiful Forever" is a very jarring book about life in Annawadi, a slum located near the Mumbai airport, just steps away from luxury Indian hotels. This true story chronicles the lives of multiple Annawadi residents who struggle to survive and pray to get ahead in this god-awful community.

The book is easy to read and understand, but there is a bit of dullness at times, however not too preachy, an informational tone overall.

I had a difficult time putting this book down which honestly does not happen often! A must read!

You might need a back-up heart to endure certain pages, relationship between twins and how one twin survived without the other.
Unforgettable and emotional, this is a story recommended for all who are interested in people who survive tragedies and what their experiences can teach us. Not for the faint of heart, however; one cannot leave the story behind without suffering some page. 5 stars

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes.
This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. It deals with a difficult subject honestly and prompted me to think about the issues surrounding quality of life. Be warned, not a book to read on public transport unless you don't mind having an emotional melt down in public!!

Loved this book. Of course the subject of illness is difficult but I loved how this family dealt with illness, treatments and end of life. Good review of so many books that you may have read or meant to read. One of my year's favorite books.

I absolutely loved this book. I could not put it down, this is NOT a trail guide, or a book solely about details of hiking - this is a book about growth, awareness, acceptance, soul-searching and soul-finding. I was hooked from the first word - and when I was done reading it, . I highly recommend this book to all who love the out of doors....and even those who do not.

I am rendered speechless, my mind reeling. I have read this story before, and yet I am still overwhelmed by the depth of emotion and staggering thoughts I have about this book. Having just read the last line, I sit here trying to wrap my mind around what I want to say, and my only coherent thought is....Wow!

This is hardly an impartial review. As somebody who has been called at some point or another the gamut of terms associated with introversion, from "shy" (which I don't object) to "anti-social" (which I most certainly consider unfair), I found in Susan Cain's "Quiet," the validation and appreciation many introverts have been searching for.
