I just wish that the authors would stop using such foul language in their books. I can understand a few word now and then, but when almost every line has several off colored words, it gets very annoying. Most of the time, these words do not add anything to the content of the book. I have read books with very little foul language and the book was just as interesting and enjoyable, probably more so. I am more likely to read more books from those authors than from the ones that only have a limited vocabulary, and that vocabulary is one of disgusting words. It is a shame, as this author wrote a good plot and the people in the book were well developed. I would like to read more of her books, but will think really hard before purchasing one again.
This book does not seem to make a point. It just make the listener feel like there is no hope for the violence to end and the people in the story seem to go in circles instead of getting right to the heart of the matter and trying to make a difference. The book ends leaving the listener wanting to to know why did they stay and still not get anything done. The author seemed to only want to write poetic verses instead of trying to write a story that showed someone who could make a difference and knew how to do so. Would not recommend this book. The author reminded me of the person Andrew, only thinking about the story, but never doing it.
It had no point
She has a wonderful voice which makes it easy to listen to
Ones who love poetry
It was just drug out. It could have been shorter is length, but the author kept dragging it on.
If you like boring books, this one is for you. I have listened to some of her other books, and they have been enjoyable, but not this one. It just was very predictable, and should have only been about 4 hours long, just kept trying to add chapter to this book that was not needed.
Disappointment, and some anger
Not her best
Horrible book. Like listening to someone read bad poetry.
Everything. The sounds in the background were horrible Who needs to have birds chriping when someone is reading.
To never have preformed at all.
Very dull and to much detail about charcters. Takes way to long to get into the "meat" of the book.
Good easy book to listen too. No sex, or foul langage. Would listen to another of her books. Narrator was very good also, did the voices well and easy to listen to.
This book tells a great story about evils of that time period and the horrible way Romans viewed non-Romans. The characters were well developed, but the book went on to long. I have not read other books by this author, but if all her books show God as being a god that makes people suffer in order to get other people to turn away from sin and except him as the true God, than I would not want to read another. Bad things happen to good people, but not all the time. When I read fiction I like to finish a book on a happy note, if I wanted to read about the reality of that time period and the loss of life and hatred for Christians I would have picked a historical book about the era.
The main character
This book is very informative. It lets you see his thoughts on what he did and why. I feel that it was hard to keep up with the time frame at times, he moves from topic to topic and this causes the book not to flow as easy at it should. Maybe it is just because he lists so many dates and talks about the wars and conflicts a lot.
Clive Cussler writes some of the best books and this one is no exception. Loved this book, one of his best
