Just a generation ago this place was called America. Now, after the worldwide implementation of UN-lead program called Agenda 21, it's simply known as the 'Republic'. There is no president. No congress. No Supreme Court. No freedom. There are only the Authorities. Citizens have two primary goals in the new Republic: to create clean energy and to create new human life. Those who cannot do either are of no use to society. This bleak and barren existence is all that 18-year-old Emmeline has ever known.

Man what a poor story line and reading.
Won't be buying anymore of his books.
Better if it was a documentary I suppose.

I truly enjoyed this book, the story line and the charaters where well formed through out the story line. It was really nice not to hear all the vulgar language and I really enjoyed how the Constitution and the first ten amendments being the Bill of Rights were expressed in a Bibllical manner. HIGHLY recommend this book and the second book you will NOT be disappointed Christian or no it's very well written and well perofrmed.

Desperate times continue to grind on with no sign of Martial Law ending soon or any hope that the economic crisis has subsided. Jimmy and his group learn of another camp of refugees that live not ten miles away from them. The group has adopted a 1960's era commune theme, complete with hippie slang and a flower child mentality. The commune was created out of one of the grand old lodges of northern Minnesota and is called Utopia, and they have one rule: No guns allowed.

Unfortunately the author keeps his main character a whimp and gets even worse at it over the second book. Nor does the author know military munitions, i.e. hand grenades and how they work. The story was ok and it ran in line with the first book but I can't take anymore of the main character and the development of the story stays pretty much static to where you can guess what's next I mean like a whole chapter ahead.
It's too bad I think the author had a good idea he just didn't take the time to develope it.

Despite all the warning bells, Black Friday arrives as a devastating tidal wave that completely destroys our fragile economy in a single day. There is panic in the streets as banks close their doors, seemingly forever, at noon. Store shelves are swept bare and the gas pumps soon run dry. Jimmy Logan watches in disbelief as his world crumbles before his eyes. Luckily, he has friends who have planned ahead for this nightmarish scenario and he joins up with a group who plan to ride the storm out in northern Minnesota. Some of their group will be dead before the sun sets.

This is the first time I've listened to this author and found I liked the story and the characters, most where very much real life in my experience. The narrator was so so however, he makes for a bad women otherwise still very easy to listen to and get into it.
I'm looking forward to the next 2 in the series, hopefully soon.

No electricity. No running water. No food. No end in sight. If life as you knew it changed in an instant, would you be prepared? In A. American's first novel, Going Home, listeners were introduced to Morgan Carter, the resourceful, tough-as-nails survivalist who embarks on a treacherous 250-mile journey across Florida following the collapse of the nation's power grid. Now reunited with his loving wife and daughters in this follow-up to Going Home, Morgan knows that their happiness is fleeting, as the worst is yet to come.

When society ceases to exist, who can you trust? After the collapse of the nation's power grid, America is under martial law - and safety is an illusion. As violence erupts around him, Morgan Carter faces one of his most difficult decisions yet: whether to stay and defend his home, or move to a more isolated area, away from the prying eyes of the government. He and his family are hesitant to leave their beloved Lake County, but with increasingly suspicious activities happening in a nearby refugee camp, all signs point towards defecting.

Domestic Enemies: The Reconquista is a novel set in the not-too-distant future in the American Southwest, during a period of low-intensity civil war. The action takes place between Texas and California, but the story is mainly centered around New Mexico. Domestic Enemies: The Reconquista is a sequel to Enemies Foreign and Domestic, but it may be enjoyed on its own.

I fully enjoyed the story and the characters. This is a author who'll be having more audio books produced soon I would think. The narrator was perfect somehow I see all this with a strong southern accent for characters at least most. I look forward to more. Hopefully soon.
There's a 3rd book in this series I have it on kindle but would prefer audio.

The story begins on opening day of the NFL season, when bullets begin to rain down upon the upper deck of a packed football stadium. A panic stampede ensues, leading to mass casualties. The alleged sniper is found holding a smoking assault rifle, and is killed by a police marksman. One week later, Congress bans the private possession of all semi-automatic assault rifles. Gun owners are given one week to turn in their semi-automatic rifles, or face a five year mandatory sentence.

Special Agent Pendergast arrives at an exclusive Colorado ski resort to rescue his protégée, Corrie Swanson, from serious trouble with the law. His sudden appearance coincides with the first attack of a murderous arsonist who - with brutal precision - begins burning down multimillion-dollar mansions with the families locked inside. After springing Corrie from jail, Pendergast learns she made a discovery while examining the bones of several miners who were killed 150 years earlier by a rogue grizzly bear.

This is another wonderful story and the section that deals with Sherlock Holmes gave me the insight of where Mr. Pendergast was invented from. Much of Pendergast is Holmes.
You will enjoy this book and if you're like me and a big fan of the Pendergast series you will like I really hope that another Pendergast book is in the works.
