When her brother was arrested for murder, the ton shut its doors to Marietta Winters. No one would help her save him from the gallows - no one but Gabriel Noble. In exchange for taking the case, Gabriel requests three favors from the desperate young beauty, and Marietta has no other choice but to make a deal with the sinfully handsome devil. Searching for clues in the rough underbelly of London, Marietta must masquerade as a shamelessly wanton wench - much to Gabriel's delight. This book started being interesting from the first 5minutes.
It became absolutely captivating couldn’t stop listening at about 4 hours in.
The magic in this book is good.
The romance in this book is light.
    The intrigue is just right!
The narrator was good but not great.
This is one of those books that you are really sad when they end so the next day after it ended I re-listened to the last few chapters :)
Too bad there seems to be only one more book in the series in audible.
LOVED it and yes it is worth the credit

Shelly Laurenston turns up the heat with two sizzling novellas. Christmas Pride: How come all the good-looking ones are insane? That's what runs through NYPD cop Desiree "Dez" MacDermot's mind the minute she hooks up again with her childhood buddy, Mace Llewellyn. Shaw's Tail: Brendon Shaw, hotel owner and lion shifter, has seen better days. He's been beaten, had a gun to the back of his head, and had to be rescued by a Pack of shape-shifting wolves.

    both stories are hot!
Loved them each and they were different so I enjoyed listening to them one after another.
Nice world created by the writer not too detailed where you get bored and put the speed to x2 and not bland enough making whish for more details.

    Story

Not a romance but a story about a witch, who leads a fairly regular life (with very little crush over some men in her life without anything actually happening).
Easy listen not overly exciting but keeps things light and interesting.
The narration was alright, was a bit hard to tell the characters apart at times.

Not sure I would buy the next book in this series (bought this one at a sale)

    Story

The story is llllongggg. The high and low points are not smooth transitions in the book.
    The characters are lacking.
The male character was not my type and the female was too concerned with propriety etc.
The lack of communication between the couple which was the reason behind their emotional pain was annoying (just a personal preference I hate when soooo many things are misunderstood and unsaid - just speak up)
The emotions and the sex were a bit mixed by the author as if they are one in the same

    !!!! Spoiler alert:
The male character is planning for 15 years to marry lady A, then as he is forced by circumstances to marry lady B - which he has tons of sex with - he is in love with her forgetting about lady A completely?

This is not as good as the first story in the Scoundrels but it is still pretty good.

Theodora Saxby is the last woman anyone expects the gorgeous James Ryburn, heir to the Duchy of Ashbrook, to marry. But after a romantic proposal before the prince himself, even practical Theo finds herself convinced of her soon-to-be duke's passion. Still, the tabloids give the marriage six months. Story

I got this book on a sale and it was worth it! I even think that this book might be worth a credit. All the elements are here, romance, good hero's, magical powers, political intrigue and some mention of the characters from the first book. I read this book before reading the first one and it didn't get in the way at all.
It is not a 5 star because there were a bit too many emotions and their description had several redundant repetitions. The end was a bit weak although epic enough to get 4 stars. The heroine was neither dumb nor weak and had a good back bone which at times lacks in such books – that was a pleasant surprise. The side characters had nice story lines as well.
I am planning on buying the 1st book in the series.
