I get tired of the 13 year old boy bathroom humor or maybe obsession with bodily functions is a better way of saying it. The only thing we ever well almost ever hear about the dog is that he stinks and this is said in many ways over and over. The fart comments are not just for the dog we have to hear about how the boys fart or stink up the bathroom and how much poo stinks. Specifically for this book, I did enjoy it, even didn't mind the side back stories, the end was such a major cliff hanger though, I hate feeling presured to buy the next book. If one comes out in who knows when, I'm not sure I will be interested. Mike the main character has become more annoying than interesting. I understand he has said over and over his filter doesn't work, but he seems to always mentally revert back the the previously mentioned 13 year old boy and I tire of it. So, I think for me the series ends with this book.

Overall I have enjoyed these books, this review is for the whold series so far. I love a good zombie story, and this for the most part fits that.

I have loved this book for years, and it was good as an audio, although all the bad things that have been said about the narrator are true, I somewhat did get used to it and the robot sounding Japanese only bothered me a little.

I've read Clavell's books several times and thought I'd give the audio a try, loved them and I think I could listen to John Lee read a phone book he is so good at it. I wish he had read Shogun.

I enjoyed this, and the first book for the most part. I did so get tired of Rigg's girlfriend, and the battle at the end was tiresome, I kept getting distracted which is a red flag. I usually don't want to stop listening to the books I get from audible. I do not think I will finish the series unless I run out of books, I do have a desire to see what happens next, but it's not a strong desire, maybe if the girlfriend isn't in it so much I will give it a try, Also, the marines don't feel real enough, it sounds strange for this type of book but when I read I completely suspend my disbelief. I'm more in the David Weber or Elizabeth Moon camps, grittier more complex... but these books have been fun just a bit too slick,.

I didn't mind the narrator as much as others did, I thought he was fine.

It was interesting to me until we went to the dream? world,

I never could figure out why he thought the world in wich he had a family and remembered history was the dream and why the world in which he couldn't remember anything was real, and then why would ANYONE have listened to a man (a kid) 25 years old because he had a dream. It really was a fantasy world. I also didn't know Dekker was a Christian author, that soulds wrong, I am a christian but I do not like the bible re written or paraphrased using obvious name games with bible names and situations, I wish I had read more reviews, I guess I only saw the over the top 5 stars, now I've wasted this credit and one for the next book forgot my rule of reading the first in a series before I buy more.

Loved the book, hated the trumpets in between chapters or whatever they were, very disruptive. but loved the book and the narrator

Felt like I was reading a Harlequin Romance. The serial killer angle was interesting to me, but the sappy over the top romance was annoying and trite. Was also disappointed with the ending, if there is a sequel, as it is obvious there should be, I won't buy it.
