Would you try another book from Joel C. Rosenberg and/or Christopher Lane?

Probably not, his books are exciting, but seem to be written for Christians only. Does he honestly think any of us are going to become born again Christians with his sad/shameful attempt to convert us.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Remove all references to Christ, Christians and all attempts to add his religious commercials.

Did Christopher Lane do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

    Yes, characterization is good.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    No!

    Any additional comments?

Would have been four stars without the religious commercials.

In celebration of the week-long, once-in-a-decade rite of Apert, the fras and suurs prepare to venture outside the concent's gates - opening them wide at the same time to welcome the curious "extras" in. During his first Apert as a fra, Erasmus eagerly anticipates reconnecting with the landmarks and family he hasn't seen since he was "collected". But before the week is out, both the existence he abandoned and the one he embraced will stand poised on the perilous brink of cataclysmic change.

    Overall

I am a big fan of Neal Stephenson. Anathem is a big disappointment. I listened for two hours before giving up. The story and language are so obscure that it is nearly impossible to maintain any interest in it. I have a library of over 500 Audible books. I have stopped listening to only two or three after starting one.

Baltimore, 1849. The body of Edgar Allan Poe has been buried in an unmarked grave. Everyone seems to accept the conclusion that Poe was a second-rate writer who met a disgraceful end, except for a young Baltimore lawyer named Quentin Clark, an ardent admirer who puts his own career and reputation at risk in a crusade to salvage Poe's.

    "The Worst Audio Book Ever"
    Overall

This was the most boring audiobook I have ever tried to listen to. I have listened to more than 500 audiobooks, all unabridged. I have a rule that if I start I will finish. I had to break that rule for the first time. I just could not continue. No believable plot, terrible characterization and poor reading.
