This venture into the wild kingdom thrusts Jane into the thickest of demoniacal plots as Tarzan’s nemesis, the dark and swarthy Rokoff and his rat-like lieutenant capture her with the intention of wreaking vengeance on Tarzan. But Tarzan assembles an awesome rescue squad; Mugambi, a giant native from the jungle who becomes the devoted follower and protector of Tarzan; Sheeta, a sleek and powerful black panther longing to apply fang and claw to those who would harm Jane; and the entire tribe of Akut, of the great apes, enraged and eager.

What would have made The Beasts of Tarzan better?

A real narrator would have made this better. The book is a classic, but the narrations sux. Anyone would have been better.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Yes, the narrator murdered this book.

    Any additional comments?

    Classic, but flawed

Dave is in a recovery unit in New Orleans, where a Creole girl named Tee Jolie Melton visits him and leaves him an iPod with the country blues song “Creole Belle” on it. Then she disappears. Dave becomes obsessed with the song and the memory of Tee Jolie and goes in search of her sister, who later turns up inside a block of ice floating in the Gulf.

Would you consider the audio edition of Creole Belle to be better than the print version?

A Will Patten book is a well read story. Will adds a lot to each book. He creates the characters of Dave and Clete and you believe your hearing from them. He captures your imagination and pulls you into the story line.

What did you like best about this story?

I am Clete Persell guy. I always wonder why JLB doesn't put him into his own book line. This book has a lot of Clete and thats always a good thing.

Would you consider the audio edition of Undead and Unfinished to be better than the print version?

Yes. the reader does a great job of presenting the heroine and her friends. You cant get that by reading.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Betsy is the Queen. She lets nothing bother her and she takes all your problems away while listening to her try to live her life. I found myself completely immersed in the story and all my troubles disappeared for a while. I love spending time with Betsy.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When we find out what happens to Sinclair - ouch! I wont spoil it but its not what you expect. Let's just say ruthless is the word.

    Any additional comments?

I love this series, it's just good gossip. No great story line, or memorable writing, just fun listening and a laugh. And thats ok.

Since 1990, when Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time® burst on the world with its first book, The Eye of the World, listeners have been anticipating the final scenes of this extraordinary saga, which has sold over 40 million copies in over 32 languages. When Robert Jordan died in 2007, all feared that these concluding scenes would never be written. But working from notes and partials left by Jordan, established fantasy writer Brandon Sanderson stepped in to complete the masterwork.

Would you try another book from Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson and/or Michael Kramer and Kate Reading ?

I did like the readers, they did a great job through all the books. I don't think we'll be getting any more books from Jordan, and I have read one other Sanderson and found it tiring.

What do you think your next listen will be?

The Cat who walks through Walls

What does Michael Kramer and Kate Reading bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

They do a great job with inflection and tone. I really felt emotion from their reading.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    Yes, but not 14 movies.

    Any additional comments?

The predictable end to a very long series. I thought the creation of the world the story takes place in very creative and intriguing but the writing was a little long winded and a little boring. The Author put too much detail into each book. I really don't need to know the name of every sword form, or every song, etc that a character would say or do.

I was very disappointed in the ending. The hero that rides along into the sunset is the biggest cliche in literature or western movies! It was awfully unimaginative.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would, it was a good read. The author could have developed the characters more and added details about relationships. I was a little thin. The main character is a mystery man for most of the book and even at the end you really don't know him very well.

What do you think your next listen will be?

    Arthur Clarks 2001

    Which scene was your favorite?

The rescue in Beirut, but it could have been much more detailed than it was. Too fast, too predictable, no chance for the good guys to lose.

Could you see American Assassin being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

It would be fluff - so look for Johhny Depp and Emilo Estevez

Celebrated crime master and two-time Edgar Award winner James Lee Burke returns with a gorgeously crafted, brutally resonant chronicle of violence along the Texas-Mexico border. Sheriff Hackberry Holland patrols a small Southwest Texas border town, meting out punishment and delivering justice in his small square of this magnificent but lawless land. When an alcoholic ex-boxer named Danny Boy Lorca begs to be locked up after witnessing a man tortured to death by a group of bandits, Hack and his deputy, Pam Tibbs, slowly extract the Indian man’s gruesome tale.

What did you like best about Feast Day of Fools? What did you like least?

No a fan of bumbling texas shariffs. Where's Dave? And this book could really have used Clete. I missed him a lot. The plot is good, and the story is listenable but the attraction of the deputy to the old fogey sheriff was forced and hard to bear. The gay mexicans were hard on the ears too.

What could James Lee Burke have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Listen to a Dave R. novel instead.

Was Feast Day of Fools worth the listening time?

Kind of depressing, is there any nice guys left?

What would have made Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter better?

The writer is perfectly boring. He uses our best president to cover up bad writing, and even throws in Edgar Allen Poe. But it is of no avail - Forescore and 2 years ago the writer brought forth, on this continent, a real stinker.

What could Seth Grahame-Smith have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

He needs to develop characters more fully, and his skills at drawing a picture with words are very lacking. I found myself disconnected and unsympathetic to the characters.

What didn’t you like about Scott Holst’s performance?

Not a bad performance, but bad writing

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Hack ripps off president to sell book

What did you like best about Undead and Unpopular? What did you like least?

The book reads like your hearing it over a fence. It's good gossip, but you didn't hear it from me! The leading lady wants to sell shoes and be herself, the author keeps throwing a crown on her head. What's a girl to do?

Would you recommend Undead and Unpopular to your friends? Why or why not?

I would recommend this if you want to put your brain in neutral and enjoy a trashy novel.

What about Nancy Wu’s performance did you like?

Nancy has three voices really, and you hear them from different characters but she really gets the leading character and she is fun to listen to.

Do you think Undead and Unpopular needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

There are too many follow up books.

    Any additional comments?

I'm done with this series, but it was a fun ride.
