Anna Karenina is beautiful, married to a successful man, and has a son whom she adores. But a chance meeting at a train station in Moscow sets her passionate heart alight, and she is defenceless in the face of Count Vronsky's adoration. Having defied the rules of nineteenth-century Russian society, Anna is forced to pay a heavy price.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

The reader is amazing in how she is able to portray many character's voices.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favourite was Leavin. He seemed like such a good man, just trying to get by.

Have you listened to any of Kate Lock’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    I am not sure.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Learning that these characters want for something, then when they get it they are still unhappy. It is amazing that this book was written in 1870 as nothing has really changed with humanity.

In the mid-70s, Steve Martin exploded onto the comedy scene. By 1978 he was the biggest concert draw in the history of stand-up. In 1981 he quit forever. Born Standing Up is, in his own words, the story of "why I did stand-up and why I walked away".

I didn't realize Steve Martin was such a skilled writer. It is a good story about his life and how he got into show business. I enjoyed the audiobook.

The reader was amazing and the best part of audio books is that all of the foreign names are pronounced correctly.
What a variety of strong characters and a surprise ending. This is a great read.
