yes, coz he's so funny
I just realized I am vain and there's a song about me, ha ha.
Narrator is excellent but the book is so interesting, it just keeps you interested all the way to the end.
it was the Italian young man who became the old man. I don't know how to spell his name.
Same, he just did the best job!!!! made him seem so humble.
yes, if I could have!
Narrator was awesome!Book was awesome.I hate cursing in books and there was just way too much in this one, so if that had been left out, I think it would have been a five for me.
No! I would if the narrator had not changed because it is a pretty decent story, a sweet romance with lots of twists and turns, but I could never listen to the narrator again.
The first narrator was excellent.
Enza because she was strong
nothing about Adrian because she should not have narrated
Annabella was great!
a nice diversion
yes, because the narrator was wonderful, wonderful, wonderful and she could read it better to me than I could ever read it to myself!
I guess it would be the end of the war right before the rescue
her great voice and enthusiasm and expression
she gives the main character a personality and spunk
This book was published after the author died and I just wish she knew how many peoples lives she has touched with her writing. She had so much hope and endurance and positive attitude in the middle of a nightmare. She also went on and didn't dwell on her nightmare. She actually had a good life afterwards.
yes, because Pearl S. Buck is amazing and so is Adam Verner the narrator.
The Good Earth and Pavilion of Women because they are also Pearl S. Buck books and she does an excellent job of conveying history and personalities and culture to you. Adam Verner also narrates Pavilion of Women and he is just so good to listen to.
His is just amazing.
I didn't know what this book was going to be about except for an Asian family and the culture, I had a reaction to the war and the takeover and all the hardship this one family endured by the "enemy".
I think Pearl S. Buck is an amazing author and I can't get over how well she wrote back in the 30's and 40's. It's like poetry reading her descriptives of just about everything she writes about from a summer night to someone's face.
long...and very educational
the tea room got to me with the od man
hard book to listen to for me. started out really interesting but i got a little bored with it. there was a little bit too much detail about some things. but overall i feel very educated now about communist china. it was a great book.
The guts of the characters
the accent was amazing
when the son and mother thought they were going to be shot
It was one more point of view about the Holocaust that helps me to see more into a nightmare. I liked seeing it from a Polish perspective.
I loved seeing it through the eyes of the zoo and the animals.
Cloud, because she was so broken
The only thing about this book was that at the end I felt all of the fears of Kate would be realized once she was gone. The fear of Tully and Kate's husband getting together. i don't know, somehow it didn't seem fair. I felt Tully was getting everything at the end and Kate ended up with nothing.
I doubt they could write another story as interesting as this one.
I liked having two narrators.
I just really appreciated the honesty of these two girls.
And I liked the way they told the story in a no nonsense sort of way.
One of the best
Love the sense of humor in light of painful situations
This is one of the best books by far.
I won't forget this book or the message.
