As a police launch speeds across Miami's Biscayne Bay - with officer Nestor Camacho on board - Tom Wolfe is off and running. Here is a big, panoramic story of the new America, as told by our master chronicler of the way we live now. Based on the same sort of detailed, on-scene, high-energy reporting that powered Tom Wolfe's previous best-selling novels, Back to Blood is another brilliant, spot-on, scrupulous, and often hilarious reckoning with our times.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would not recommend this book as It was way too long for the plot. If I had this in print I would have skimmed half the book.

Would you ever listen to anything by Tom Wolfe again?

I like the story line and the crazy characters. The plot evolution and introduction of characters, not to be heard from again for 12 hours really left something to be desired.

The Great Recession has shuffled Clay Jannon out of his life as a San Francisco Web-design drone - and serendipity, sheer curiosity, and the ability to climb a ladder like a monkey has landed him a new gig working the night shift at Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore. But after just a few days on the job, Clay begins to realize that this store is even more curious than the name suggests. There are only a few customers, but they come in repeatedly and never seem to actually buy anything....

    Any additional comments?

This book was a pleasant surprise. It was a slow start, in which I was wondering why I bought this book to begin with, but then really hooked me. The story is believable yet still somewhat slightly bizarre. I found my self rooting for the main characters and after finishing went searching for other books written by the author.

I loved this book. The narrator was fantastic. I could almost envision the setting. The story line was a little tired towards the end but overall it was very well written with characters that came to life through the story.

What disappointed you about WWW: Wonder?

This book was so politically biased and predictable I could not help but think it should be marketed to the tween audience. I have no interest in reading the other two previous books by this author.

This book was a waste of the credits. The main character is weak and constantly insecure. To spend 11 hours listening to a character look to a man for assurance of self worth was torture.
