The book started out amazingly.Great hook, some tragedy. Solid character building. The second act brought in some wonderful supporting characters and plot twists that only dragged you deeper into the story. The third act took all of that and chucked it in the bin leaving you with a rehashed and somewhat cliched police procedural. Such a let down from an amazing build up. I can not recommend this book because of that third act.
Yes. The story is wonderful, as is the performance.
Ms. Reading did wonderfully as always. Each character was easily recognizable.
Jim Butcher's story and Kate Reading's performance are both wonderful, as usual. However, this book's recording appears to have several instances where there may have been problems while editing. Words were cut off, breaks between sentences were non-existent, etc. These were not throughout the book, but occurred frequently enough to be distracting and to think that editing was rushed.
