  • Aliens in America

    • ORIGINAL (1 hr and 15 mins)
    • By Sandra Tsing Loh
    • Narrated By Sandra Tsing Loh

Contemporary satirist Loh spins a darkly comic, semi-autobiographical tale of growing up middle-class Chinese-German in Southern California. This comic monologue is for sons and daughters everywhere who feel that their parents must have beamed to Earth from another planet.

Randee says: "Liked the stories -- hated the delivery"
"She should not quite her day job."
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

    An actual professional presenter.

Would you be willing to try another book from Sandra Tsing Loh? Why or why not?

    In text only.

Would you be willing to try another one of Sandra Tsing Loh’s performances?

    If really really cheap.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Wrong person to read the story which is not that bad.

  • Righteous Indignation: Excuse Me While I Save the World

    • UNABRIDGED (7 hrs and 35 mins)
    • By Andrew Breitbart
    • Narrated By Jeremy Guskin
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Known for his network of conservative websites that draws millions of readers everyday, Andrew Breitbart has one main goal: to make sure the "liberally biased" major news outlets in this country cover all aspects of a story fairly. Breitbart is convinced that too many national stories are slanted by the news media in an unfair way. In Righteous Indignation, Breitbart talks about the key issues that Americans face, how he has aligned himself with the Tea Party, and how one needs to deal with the liberal news world head on.

    Larry says: "Very insightful!"
"A must for current events afficianados."
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes. He became a good sized fish in the pond, and died early. He will be missed.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Could you see Righteous Indignation being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

    Any additional comments?

He is a bit of a stuffed shirt and self righteous. A bit more arrogant then he deserves.

  • Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 29 mins)
    • By Barbara Demick
    • Narrated By Karen White

Barbara Demick's Nothing to Envy follows the lives of six North Koreans over fifteen years - a chaotic period that saw the death of Kim Il-sung and the unchallenged rise to power of his son, Kim Jong-il, and the devastation of a far-ranging famine that killed one-fifth of the population. Taking us into a landscape never before seen, Demick brings to life what it means to be an average Korean citizen, living under the most repressive totalitarian regime today.

Gohar says: "The man who wants to be GOD"
    "Animal Farm"
If you could sum up Nothing to Envy in three words, what would they be?

    Ignorance IS Bliss

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

The small number of successful defectors and their Post Tramatic Shock.

What about Karen White’s performance did you like?

    Pretty much transparent.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Oh My God. There really is a hell and many residents actually believe it is heaven.

    Any additional comments?

EVERYONE should either read or listen to this book. Listening is the most informative.
