This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Slow slow slow. I dont know who would enjoy this. I rarely dont finish a book and I just couldnt see devoting any more time to this one

Would you ever listen to anything by Frederick Forsyth again?

    I doubt it.

Would you listen to another book narrated by David Rintoul?

It wasnt the narrator that was the issue with this book

What character would you cut from The Fourth Protocol?

Just burn the book. This guy took an entire chapter to talk about the connnections and influence in teh British parliament. Soooo boring and could have set up the connections in about 10 pages - instead he devoted an entire chapter - talk about page filling. This is the kind of crap I would do in high school papers.

    Any additional comments?

    Dont waste your time.

If you could sum up Silvertongue in three words, what would they be?

A great series of books. My only comment was that when I thought this book had ended it actually had a few more chapters which didnt seem necessary. The last part of the book could have been truncated and the story would have seemed finished.

A city has many lives and layers. London has more than most. A 12-year-old boy named George Chapman is about to find this out the hard way. On a school trip he's punished for something he didn't do. In a tiny act of rebellion, he lashes out at a small carving on the wall - unexpectedly breaking it off. And then something horrible does happen: a stone pterodactyl unpeels form the wall and starts chasing him. George is already running before his mind starts trying to tell him that this is impossible!

What other book might you compare Stoneheart to and why?

Similar to Harry Potter in its approach to a series.

Have you listened to any of Jim Dale’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

JIm Dale is awesome and I picked this trilogy because of his performance on the Harry Potter books. He just does an amazing job and I will search him out again.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

Would you try another book from George Crile and/or Christopher Lane?

    Maybe

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

    less minutia. Wow- sooooo sloooooowwwww

Did Christopher Lane do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

    eh - ok

Do you think Charlie Wilson's War needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    No - too slow

    Any additional comments?

I skipped some sections as it was just too slow - although I have a high interest in politics and the history of the mid east.

Kelly Oxford is a wunderkind producer of pirated stage productions for six-year-olds, not the queen of the world, an underage schnitzel-house dishwasher, the kid who stood up to a bully and almost passed out from the resulting adrenaline rush, a born salesman, capable of willing her eyesight to be 20/20, that girl who peed her pants in the gas station that one time, totally an expert on strep throat, incapable of making Leonardo DiCaprio her boyfriend, and a terrible liar.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Easy to listen to in small bits when you are in and out of the car a lot.

Would you be willing to try another book from Kelly Oxford? Why or why not?

Probably not - this was ok but not overly funny. Some amusing bits - but not what I would have expected.

What does Kelly Oxford bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She reads it very well -

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    no

    Any additional comments?

Her reading is vry good - and this is mildly amusing. But I have not found a comedic book that elicits more than a few amusing moments.
