Lucy spends her days making flamboyant clothes, which express all the passion and flair that she cannot, and at night sits alone, fretting over her struggling business. Then a beguiling fortune-teller informs her that her future is far from rosy - in fact, she doesn't have one! Naturally she doesn't believe him, but when his other prophecies come scarily true, she starts to wonder if he could be right. His prediction pushes Lucy to finally throw caution to the wind.

Izzy is going to be famous one day - the music industry just hasn't discovered her yet. Irrepressible Izzy has a dazzling talent, two perfect boyfriends and a daughter to organise her. Basically, she has a brilliant life. Gina's life couldn't be less brilliant. Her husband has just run off with his pregnant mistress. Of course she feels guilty when she accidentally knocks Izzy off her motorbike, but it's hardly the end of the world, is it? It's only a broken leg.

I like Jill Mansell's novels since discovering her in a bookstore in Ireland. This book although not one of her best it is a good one with just enough quirky characters and sub plots to flesh out the story line and keep it above the fray of a predictable or typical romance.

Like it and it was a great listen the narrator does a wonderful job . It is a fun listen. I would recommend it to those wanting something light.

One afternoon in 1839, Emily Lowry’s husband vanishes from Wreckers’ Cay, an isolated island off the coast of Key West where he tends the lighthouse. As days stretch into months, Emily has no choice but to take charge of Wreckers’ Cay and her husband’s duties tending the light to support her three children - and a fourth on the way. Unexpected help arrives when a runaway slave named Andrew washes up on their beach. At first, Emily is intensely wary of this strange, charming man, whose very presence there is highly illegal. But Andrew proves himself an enormous help and soon wins the hearts of the Lowry family.

I enjoy this type of novel very much. The story line was very moving and touching for its time and the narrator did a wonderful job. I would listen to more of the author's novels and the narrator's also.

This story of a young orphaned Indian boy in the early 1900's is at times both heartwarming and tragic. I brings out how cruelty discrimination against the Indian affected so many lives and how they stood strong against this discrimination. The grandparents love for themselves and their little grandson is at all times present in this book. At times you weep and at times you laugh. A wonderful listen. The end leaves you wanting to know more of this young man's life.

Welcome back to the village of Ballybucklebo. Come and say hello again to Dr. O'Reilly's odd-as-two-left-feet patients; his housekeeper, Mrs. "Kinky" Kinkaid; and O'Reilly's pets: Arthur Guinness, the beer-swilling black Lab, and Lady MacBeth, the demonically possessed white cat. And of course, to young Dr. Barry Laverty. After Barry's first month as an assistant to crusty Dr. O'Reilly, he has been offered a permanent spot. But Laverty's excitement is dashed when one of his patients unexpectedly dies.
