For ex-FBI profiler Pierce Quincy, it's the beginning of his worst nightmare: a car abandoned on a desolate stretch of Oregon highway, engine running, purse on the driver's seat. And his estranged wife, Rainie Conner, gone, leaving no clue to her fate.

    Barbie Smith says: "Two-star narration"
    "Hard to listen to"
    Overall

Since I already paid for it at some time in the future I intend to finish it. I only made it about an hr into the story before I found myself another book, Anna Fields just kills the whole story. Her voice doesn't change depending on who is speaking so I keep finding myself lost on what character is saying what. Some how a character from the west coast has a southern accent.

David Wolfe's life is approaching an exhilarating peak: a successful San Francisco lawyer, he's about to get married and has been primed for a run for Congress. But when the phone rings and he hears the voice of Hana Arif, the Palestinian woman with whom he had a passionate affair in law school, he begins a completely unexpected journey. The day after Hana's call, the prime minister of Israel is assassinated by a suicide bomber - and soon Hana is accused of being the mastermind behind the murder.

I had listened to this book years ago when it first came out but I still got it again. The entire story is mesmerizing and so wondefully written. Richard North Patterson has been hit or miss over the last few times but Exile is an all time great.

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Suzanne says: "The scare is in the human nature under stress."
    "One of Kings best."
    Overall

I'm not a Stephen King fan in any way. I read "The Stand" when I was a teenager and nothing else he ever did really struck me like that book did. I listened to "The Dome" a while ago and I will still go back to it from time to time. No one else could have made the characters come alive like Raul Esparza did. The story goes a little into the twilight zone at the end, but all Stephen King novels usually take a trip into wierd zone at some point. I don't think going into the wierd took anything away from this book. The characters were so vivid and alive, you don't come away from this book feeling like you didn't get the whole story.

    Overall

I kept finding excuses to sit with my Ipod and keep listening. It wasn't to hard to figure out what was going on early on in the story but there was a wonderful twist in the end. I love Harlan Coben and this is definitely on of my recent favorites.

First, the unthinkable: a security breach at a secret U.S. government facility unleashes the monstrous product of a chilling military experiment. Then, the unspeakable: a night of chaos and carnage gives way to sunrise on a nation, and ultimately a world, forever altered. All that remains for the stunned survivors is the long fight ahead and a future ruled by fear—of darkness, of death, of a fate far worse.

    "It was great"
    Overall

I have never written a review for a book before but I think this one is worth it. It's not for everyone and can seem to draw out at points. I thinks it's realistic sci fi. I usually buy audio books to listen to while I drive to work or do boring tasks but I couldn't wait to keep listening to this one.
