"The best thing to happen since Mitch Rapp!"
I'm halfway through the unabridged audiobook version and I can't stop listening to hear what happens next. Jack Reacher wouldn't want to walk up to Dewey in a dark alley and Mitch Rapp would buy him a beer! You're an amazing author and I look forward to all your new work. Great to have a new master in this genre!
"Too much coincidence"
Great heroes plan their escapes or have a trick or two up their sleeve when things get tough. Not Blaine McCracken. Dumb luck and an indian war tribe pull him out of the fire... yeah, I said indian warriors.. really? I'm all about suspension of disbelief, but this was too much for me to stomach. First book in a long time I wish I'd not purchased.
"Action, but not action, but great."
As a fan of non-stop action, I started to be a little disappointed when I saw where this book was going. In the end, it's a story about a man and his dog. But don't let that stop you. It's a great story, with a great plot, and has a great insight into the K-9 world and enough action and suspense to keep you going through till the end. Great novel! I'll be reading more from this author.
"Absolutely Brilliant Clancy"
Espionage; check. Intrigue; check. Fighter planes, cybercrime, hard-hitting action; check, check, check.
There's never been a better took in this series! I loved it! I can't wait until the next one!
"Wow! Couldn't put it down!"
This is the BEST techno-action novel I've ever put my hands on. The author has the technical knowledge of Robert Sawyer, and the action-suspense grasp of Clancy. He merges cutting edge military action with high-tech bad guys, tosses in some science, and the delivers it up in a masterpiece of literary fiction. I'll definitely read his next books. This guy just made it on to my favorite-authors list!
"Wow.. he did it again"
Totally unlike anything else I've ever read from Sawyer, this one was gripping from the beginning. I couldn't put it down once it got going. I literally burned through this one in a single day, almost non-stop.
Sawyer's grasp of political intrigue mixed with science is becoming a calling card of his writing, but just when I thought he couldn't entertain me any better, he did.
"Great Series! Loved it."
I'll admit to being surprised that I liked this book. I like the genre but know nothing about the author. The movie got so many rave reviews I thought I'd try enjoying the book first and I'm very glad I did!
The first twenty pages(minute) seemed like it was going to be slow-paced, but it picked up quickly and didn't stop until the last page. I've already ordered the second one in the series. A definite must read!
"Good, but not great."
I liked it, but to me the narrator made it a little less than perfect. The plot is DEFINITELY unique and the story keeps a great pace till the end, with surprise after surprise. Yes, it's definitely a medical, biotechnological, action packed thriller and yes it's definitely interesting, but the characters are almost TOO perfect. It has a potential to become a series, but it needs a little more realism and to come down a little from the clouds before I think this character will go main-stream.
Worth the credit, but not an all out purchase, if that makes sense. I'll read another of his books if he writes one just to see how the author progresses.
"As expected"
Another great Reacher novel. This one takes you back a bit to when he's still in the military and forms some of the foundation for his later-known personality quirks. I liked it as much as all the other Reacher novels and couldn't wait to read it. Now, as usual, I can't wait for him to write the next one!
"Wow"
I'm just gonna keep it simple and say "The best Rapp novel EVER!" This is the story of how it all began. I couldn't stop listening.. it kept me awake until it was over. Great book!
