Some people may wonder what this subject has to do with Dave Barry, since Dave's struggled hard against growing up his entire life-but the result is one of the funniest, warmest, most pitch-perfect books ever on that mystifying territory we call "adulthood".

I might get another book. His columns seem to be better. Also, he might have benefitted from somone else reading the book.

For fans of Tina Fey and David Sedaris - Internet star Jenny Lawson, aka The Bloggess, makes her literary debut. Jenny Lawson realized that the most mortifying moments of our lives - the ones we'd like to pretend never happened - are in fact the ones that define us. In Let's Pretend This Never Happened, Lawson takes readers on a hilarious journey recalling her bizarre upbringing in rural Texas, her devastatingly awkward high school years, and her relationship with her long-suffering husband, Victor.

Would you try another book from Jenny Lawson and/or Jenny Lawson?

No. The book was very repetitive. There was little humor in the stories.

Would you ever listen to anything by Jenny Lawson again?

    No; performance quality was poor.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

She seemed to be amused by the stories. A conversational tone was not the best approach to the story.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Let's Pretend This Never Happened (A Mostly True Memoir)?

I would not have given the book the green light.

    Any additional comments?

Any comparison to David Sedaris or Tina Fey is ridiculous.
