I've done all the diets over the past 20 years of my life and can appreciate how this author looks at all of them (briefly) and realistically. At the end of the day, as we all know but dont want to know is - less calories, more exercise = weight loss. Period.
I am one of those people that needs a little more hand holding than that though, and I appreciated this books common sense, no magic pill, realistic approach. Having done many diets in the 90's and also done different exercise programs I think the info here is sold and very good advice.
If you are looking for "do this one thing and you will be skinny in 3 weeks!" rah rah books, this isn't for you. If you want honest and down to earth info that works (if you do!) then this is a good buy for you.
I had no problems with the narrator at all. Found it an easy listen, broken up over a couple days.
I have been listing to this book 5 nights a week at bedtime for months. My lucid dreaming has not changed or increased.
It is pleasant enough to listen to, and more of a meditative way to fall asleep, but didn't seem to help me with gaining more consciousness in my dreams than normal.
I like this series mostly because it is right inline with my own belief system I suppose. If you havent read the 1st book, I do suggest getting that one before Book Two...but it doesnt really matter.
I dont think it matters if this guy is talking to God, or if he is just talking to himself (one in the same if you are of that mindset) but I like the hard questions and the seemly obvious answers that we tend to forget. Great reminders for me, and us all.
I love these books, and recommend them to anyone with an open mind. I also find them quiet witty at times...turns out even "God" likes a laugh here and there.
Honestly though, I think I preferred the hard copy books, which is usually not the case with me.
Only negative for me - The voice of "God" switches between 2 people, and while I understand the point behind that it was still a bit annoying to listen to.
Jillian Michaels has probably the best grasp on healthy eating, and getting fit realistically of any author I have read on this subject.
I like that she goes through all the myths and "facts" we have all heard and even lived by, and tells you if they are crap or not, but also Why.
She also looks at the big picture of how its a lot more then just eating and exercise that affects our efforts. Hormones, even food packaging...lots of good solid info here and I recommend this book to anyone wanting to educate themselves and/or lose some weight.
Tip - look her up on You Tube for free fitness videos.
I would not hesitate to recommend this book to anyone who wants to improve their people skills, and understanding a bit more about human nature and interaction.

I did this program years back and it worked for me, just like in the before after picts...and I know it works if you follow it. I want to put myself on a new program and while I mostly know what to do, I wanted some refreshers and motivation.
This audio book is no where Near as good as the hard copy book and I feel like I just wasted my time listening to it.
At best, I would say do both books to compliment each other, but this audio book on its own is fairly useless.
I would say I am glad I bought this book...as a social drinker who would not classify themselves as an alcoholic. However I can clearly see where drinking has a negative impact on my life and has to go if I want to achieve the goals I actually care about...weight management and other personal goals that require focus and energy.
I thought the author was a bit over the top at times, but his message rang true and there is some good information and common sense stuff you might need to hear, if you are struggling with some issues based around this socially acceptable drug habit.
Has it "cured me" of my desire to drink? Sure...until I go out Sat night. BUT I will listen to it a few times more to help me in truly changing how I look at it, and see it for the poison it really is.

Enjoyed the book, listened to it a couple times. I like her no BS approach and all of the info provided rings true. Recommend if you are looking for a an interesting listen to keep your goals on track, and maybe some new info too.
I listend to this twice in a row, so I can say I quite enjoyed it. It is in line with my personal beliefs, so if its not in line with yours you may need to take it with a grain of salt. In either case, there is good info here for us all.
Better and truer explanations of manifesting than the Secret, this is the real stuff.
I highly recommend for anyone wanting to re-connect (or maybe connect for the first time) with the power within them, and how to realistically access it.
I read this book about 5 years back and have done the diet twice (which worked). Over time I had forgotten it and gone back to bad habits and started gaining weight again. Even though I know the basics, I bought the audiobook as a reminder/freshen up on the details.
This diet works, and most of the info here is good (I do not agree with it all, for example he uses fake sugar replacement in place of sugar when having a treat, and I know that ingredient is an appetite stimulant and possibly a cause of serious health concerns).
But overall, the foods he eliminates and slowly incorporates back in is not rocket science but I think accurate, and like I said, followed exactly, it works.
If this approach is new to you, you may want to grab a hard copy of the recipe book too...or google ideas for what to eat with the foods allowed.
Note - he cuts out fruit the first 2 weeks, which I dont 100% agree with for health reasons, but it does make a difference in the first phase in getting over sugar cravings and stimulating weight loss. You incorporate some back in after the first 2 weeks.
I dont know how great this would be for vegan's though, a lot of the diet is based around proteins.
