Radio Spirits is very pleased to present radio's greatest crime fighter, The Shadow, in this new collection of 18 digitally restored and remastered episodes selected from the classic series. Featuring Orson Welles, William Johnstone and Bret Morrison each in the title role, this set also includes the first release of two newly discovered and previously lost episodes starring Orson Welles as Lamont Cranston and The Shadow - "The Old People" and "The Vocie of the Trumpet".

    Overall

They were good, but I definitely like The Shadow much more with Orson Welles doing the part.

The Wheel of Time turns and ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the age that gave it birth returns again. For centuries, gleemen have told the tales of The Great Hunt of the Horn. So many tales about each of the Hunters, and so many Hunters to tell of. Now, the Horn itself is found: the Horn of Valere long thought only legend, the Horn which will raise the dead heroes of the ages.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Great Hunt to be better than the print version?

I do like the audio edition better because I have the ability to listen to the book while enjoying a long commute to work.

Who was your favorite character and why?

In this book it was probably Rand. You can see how the book is revolving around his changes and I like how his character was portrayed.

Which character – as performed by Kate Reading and Michael Kramer – was your favorite?

    Rand, Matt or Perrin

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

A Great Book on a Great Hunt

In Book Eight of The Wheel of Time, the action begins when Nynaeve, Elayne, and Aviendha are heading for Caemlyn and Elayne's rightful throne. On the way, they discover an enemy much worse than the Seanchan.

What would have made The Path of Daggers better?

I didn't know the difference between Abridged and Unabridged. Narrator is really bad on the Abridged version.

Has The Path of Daggers turned you off from other books in this genre?

    No

How could the performance have been better?

    New narrator.

What character would you cut from The Path of Daggers?

    None, I like them all.

When their village is attacked by trollocs, monsters thought to be only legends, three young men, Rand, Matt, and Perrin, flee in the company of the Lady Moiraine, a sinister visitor of unsuspected powers. Thus begins an epic adventure set in a world of wonders and horror, where what was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

Couldn't stop listening to it. I really enjoyed the people who read the parts. They did a really good job in describing the characters without being too corny. I am onto the next in the series and hope its as good as the last two!

I really enjoyed this book. It was new from the original series and it was my first time in audio format. I thought it was very well written and filled in some good information that helped to make the next book even more enjoyable.
