"A+ narration"
Highly recommend
The tragic ending of Joe Paterno's life. You get to see every facet of the man, his family, his friends, his enemies during those crucial last months.
He put his acting chops to work using emotion in his voice when the scene called for it. He also read Paterno's quotes with Paterno's voice. GREAT, GREAT performance!
Joe Paterno's emotional reaction, the day after his firing.
"A Masterwork"
Keller brings depth, richness, and insight to Mark's Gospel. He has a gift of simply and powerfully communicating incredibly deep philosophical/spiritual/theological ideas. I will listen to this audio book again, it's that good.
"A great story that gets lost in the detail"
I'm a newshound and a CNN junkie, but this book was a real snoozer. The author is preoccupied with reporting so many numbers, dollars, and Washington insider speak that you could play ten minutes from any part of the book (beginning, middle, end) and it ALL sounds the same. I've never wanted to get to the end of an Audible book so quickly. The narrator tries too hard to imitate the many people mentioned in the book. One minute he is trying an Ohio accent, next a Virginia accent, etc. He tries (very clumsily) to do the voices of every character in the book, to the point it becomes annoying.
"Terrific read"
One of my favorite books I've listened to. It was so engrossing, I didn't want to put it down.
Holter Graham performance was convincing. He sounded like he could have been a SEAL; he was comfortable with all the military acronyms and terminology.
Pretty much.
"Powerful read"
The depth to which Keller takes the familiar story of the Prodigal Son. He brought so much to the story that I had never contemplated.
The competing world views of the older brother and the younger brother.
It's nice to hear the author read his own book
Yes. Definitely
One of my favorite books on Audible.com
"Great story; I struggled with the narration"
One of the best
The in depth look at the life of Steve Jobs
Dylan Baker's narration didn't seem to fit the material of the biography. His voice and narration were more suited to a western or a more folksy-type book.
