"definitely for the sci-fi heads..."
enjoyed the story, but got lost in the monologues. some of the terminology, description, and concepts just flew right over my head. based off the other reviews, i think it's easy to see that if you're really into sci-fi, this book is for you.
good story and enjoyed most parts otherwise.
"spine tingling story..."
narration is awesome. although, i just kept thinking, "that's the @$$hole from Avatar!" lol ... story is too good. kept me on the edge of my seat a lot of times. ending left a little to be desired for me, but it closed up well and there isn't too much else to complain about.
"i get it..."
good overall feel good story, with drama sprinkled in here and there. a lot of times, i found myself saying, "okay, i get it. i know what you're trying to say already, let's move on now..."
narration is okay, i like when it comes from the author themselves, and she did a good job.
"As the others have said..."
Very entertaining, but why abridged? I didn't catch on until about a couple of hours in, I kept feeling like I was "missing" something. Bits of information here or there, or that I just wasn't getting the whole story with each narrator. Looked up the reviews and found out why.
Why?!
"Good story, bad reading"
You always need that short time to adjust narrators after finishing a book. Never came to me for this one. Mike Chamberlain was boring, and didn't add to it at all. If anything, made it harder to paint the picture in your head.
Good story.. although lacking in credibility. From what I understand Mezrich was very liberal in his fact checking, and midway through the book, it starts to feel very obvious.
