Simply one of my favorite books of all time. It has a perfect blend of unique ideas, fantasy, and great humor. Sophie, Howl, and Calcifer are unforgettable characters. It’s timeless and appropriate for all ages.

I love audio books. I’ve listened to so many that I’ve lost count. So when I bought this audio book, I thought I would like it as much as all the others. I’m sorry to say I was very disappointed at both the story and the narration. I found Elena to be very unlikable, and even more so when the narrator gave her a whinny, popular girl voice. By far, this is my least favorite narrator. She couldn’t do accents at all, and her guy voices were the same as girl voices. And the only way to tell the girls apart was one was more annoying than the other. It’s poor class when adults interpret teenager novels in such a stereotypical way. Personally, I think the tv series is much more interesting, with more redeeming characters.
