I listened to all 3 books in the series and was really into the characters and the story line. Up until the "ending" that just seemed to stop the story mid action. Really bizarre way to handle the ending of a good series. The real ending should have happened hours before in the audiobook. I kept wondering what the heck else could happen after everything was done, and there was still several hours left in the segment.
This would have been at least a 4 star book, maybe even a 4.5. But with the atrocious way Joe ended the series I can't give it more than 3.
Yikes, I don't get the rave reviews of this book. I got halfway through and just gave up. The premise sounds great, the summary drew me in, and then all the glorious descriptions of "nothing inparticular" for pages upon pages really bored me. I listen to audiobooks in my car for at least 90 minutes a day and usually enjoy them. This book was terrible and I kept stopping listening to listen to music on my iPhone. I just didn't care enough about the story to keep going.
I enjoyed Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead, but had to stop listening to this 2 hours in. It's bad, the narration is awful, the story is boring and more drawn out than it needs to be. Painful to listen to, there's no continuity between characters at this point, there's too many characters to even keep track of, and the narration is borderline ludicrous.
