I got this book looking for action packed adventure. The idea behind the book was very good and the characters very likable, but the book moved way too slow for me. I can't decide if that's the author's fault or the narrator. I still recommend this book and will be listening to the second in the series.
I've had this book in my library for awhile now. I love Brandon Sanderson and all his works, but the narrator on this one kept making me put it down and listen to other books in my library. I finally listened to it all the way through and the storyline is very good, but the narrator is terrible (at least for this book.)
Great, interesting story, but the author went on and on way past the need to make her point. The graphic nature of the story is important, but the author dragged it on way past necessity. It didn't add anything to the story and instead got boring after awhile.
It was still a great story and highly recommended. You just need to stick with it.
Worth the credit and if I didn't have audible I'd read it in book form. This book like the other Dan Brown books is very entertaining and kept my attention. It was a bit predictable and had the exact same formula as all the other Dan Brown Novels.
I read a lot of fantasy, but generally I like my protagonists likable and a happy or at least satisfying end to the story. I picked up this book due to all the great reviews and I can say they are justified. The reader can make or break a novel and this reader is exceptional. He made a good book into an excellent book.
The characters aren't likable, but they are highly enjoyable. I definitely recommend this book.
Great story, keeps you interested. I really enjoyed the perspective. My only complaint is the narrator speaks too slow. This is easily fixed by changing the talking speed to 1.5.
I've seen a few movies based on King's books, but I've never read any of his books. I was looking for something epic that would grab my attention. This really hit the spot. The story line kept me right up to the end and the narrator did a great job. It was very easy to get sucked into the story.
The story line was good, but not gripping. I thought it was "just okay." Worth listening to, but nothing special or exceptional. Haven't decided if I'll listen to book 2 yet. For now I'm taking a break from the series.
Brandon Sanderson is an excellent author. This novel is no different. The novel keeps your attention all the way through.
Anyone who has bothered to read the reviews will know it's going to be another series, so be warned going into it. This is just book one. It's silly to get upset because Brandon has chosen to make it into a series instead of a stand alone book. Personally, I'm glad to know there will be future mistborn novels.
