All her life Melody Evans has wanted to marry a plain, average man who doesn’t take risks. But when the foreign embassy is taken over by terrorists and she’s rescued by a daring Navy SEAL, Melody blames the extreme circumstances for their ensuing passion. When it comes to ordinary, Harlan “Cowboy” Jones is anything but, and their encounter leaves Melody with a little more than just memories.

"Holds some interest, could have been better"
    Overall

The story included the point of view of both the macho guy and the feminine lead which was interesting, the story held my interest, but there was a lack of other characters like friends and like where were the parents, their daughter is having a baby alone and there is no mention of family, ever?
The story was not dynamic enough or believable enough.

My name is Greer Karas, and I should never be allowed near another bottle of booze again. Because when I drink, my friend and I do stupid things. Like take a page out of my older brother Creighton's playbook and post something completely asinine on the Internet. Waking up with a giant hangover to find my humiliating personal ad has gone viral is not my finest moment.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

there are a lot of positive reviews out there, i just dont get it. Im only on chapter 23. the two main characters have had sex at least that many times and Im begiinning to feel like a voyeur! There is no story yet. Enough with the stupid spanking already! yuck!I can only listen for so long (yawn) before I find myself switching to much more interesting book! Any book!

Has Dirty Girl turned you off from other books in this genre?

there have so many authors who have switched to the 50 shades type sex now. this book is one of those. Might as well just read pure porn. I have read many other Meghan March books and enjoyed them all....just not this one and I cant believe there is a second book to complete this story grrrossss

What does Andi Ardnt and Sebastian York bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

they are always terrific narratorsI felt sorry for them having to do all that sex speak!

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    boredom and voyerism!

    Any additional comments?

C'mon Meghan, get back to your real writing! We want a love story!

The morning of her niece's wedding, Margo Just drinks a double martini and contemplates the many mistakes she's made in her fifty-odd years of life. Spending three decades in love with a wonderful but unattainable man is pretty high up on her list of missteps, as is a long line of unsuccessful love affairs accompanied by a seemingly endless supply of delicious cocktails.

Bernadette Fox is notorious. To her Microsoft-guru husband, she's a fearlessly opinionated partner; to fellow private-school mothers in Seattle, she's a disgrace; to design mavens, she's a revolutionary architect, and to 15-year-old Bee, she is a best friend and, simply, Mom.

Then Bernadette disappears. It began when Bee aced her report card and claimed her promised reward: a family trip to Antarctica. But Bernadette's intensifying allergy to Seattle - and people in general - has made her so agoraphobic that a virtual assistant in India now runs her most basic errands.

jillian wightman says: "Narrator extraordinaire for hilarious tale!"
"You won't be disappointed with this one!"

    Story

Bernadette is super wacky but loveable, and completely misunderstood by all who know her or think they know her.
Her husband is a revered guru at "Mr Softie" but a non-performer in their home lives.
They are transplanted LA'rs living among hi strung granola crunchers in Seattle. The story centers around their daughters private high school and their relationships with the other parents.
You also get an inside look at corporate life at the headquarters campus of Microsoft.
The story is filled with quirky but believable characters.
The author very deftly unfolds the story of how each family member came to be where they are now in their lives and then ties the story up in a very fresh unexpected manner. No spoiler alert here!
My attention was held throughout the book and was captivated with each reveal, both the good ones and the bad ones. You go Bernadette!
I look forward to reading much more by Maria Semple

Mace finds he doesn’t like it much that his ex-girlfriend got shot right in front of him, but it’s worse. A very bad man has thrown down the gauntlet, and all the Rock Chicks are in the firing line.

Your plane has touched down in the land of hot dudes and their sexy comedic gorgeous girlfriends, all of whom say they won't date their guy-then they do-then they get kidnapped.
OK, enough already, Im so tired of this series. This book did not even have enough tension between the main characters so the author started filling in with side stories of characters from the earlier books in the series. BIG YAWN

Twenty-six-year-old Gaby Barreto might be a lot of things (loyal, sarcastic, one of the guys, and a pain in the butt, depending on which family member you ask), but dumb isn't one of them. When her twin brother invites her to go on tour as his band's merch girl, she isn't exactly screaming at the top of her lungs with joy. But with no job opportunities pounding on her door, an ex-boyfriend she would still like to castrate, and no end in sight to moving out of her parents' house in Dallas, it would be dumb to say no to the chance of a lifetime.

Girl goes on on tour with a band, selling their merchandise at the concerts, is the jist of the story.
She builds a relationship with one of the members.Their romance was more of a long drawn out pre-romance with little tension and wasn't realistic. No one snuggles that much in bed without sex.
When the woman narrator spoke in the mens voices she made them sound whiny and stupid- even the boyfriend. That was annoying too
MZ is my favorite author but this was my least favorite read of hers. Sorry MZ!

Vanessa Mazur knows she's doing the right thing. She shouldn't feel bad for quitting. Being an assistant/housekeeper/fairy godmother to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans, and none of them include washing extra-large underwear longer than necessary. But when Aiden Graves shows up at her door wanting her to come back, she's beyond shocked.

I read romance all the time and this is now on my top ten! An average girl meets and works as a personal assistant for a reticent pro athlete for 2 years with like zero interaction/ communication, but she was always had his back, took care of him and went out of her way to serve him delicious large quantity meals without being asked.
Then she turns in her notice and leaves. This is when the fun part begins. He comes to her with a business proposal that she cannot refuse.
Great read, fun book. I love this author, i am so glad Audible picked up more of her work!

A bit formula to start---drunken hook up night in Vegas with instant marriage...but then the book really takes off. He is french and she goes with him to Paris for the summer, which he does ask her to do but didn't think she would take him up on his offer- but there she is on his plane...and it starts midflight with her getting a raging abdominal flu and starting her period with no supplies wearing white pants. That was an OMG moment for the two of them.

The premise sounded good, but in actuality there is just a lot of long winded drama and in the end, nothing has changed. The characters are as they began in the book. There is also a very disturbing long long section where one of the characters attempts suicide by anaphalactic shock. It was just horrible to have to listen to.

The Carmichaels and the Grahams have gathered on Nantucket for a wedding. Plans are being made according to the wishes of the bride's late mother, who left behind The Notebook: specific instructions for every detail of her youngest daughter's future nuptials. Everything should be falling into place for the beautiful event - but in reality, things are far from perfect. While the couple-to-be are quite happy, their loved ones find their own lives crumbling.

If you could sum up Beautiful Day in three words, what would they be?

    grief, wedding, soap-opera

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Margo, the eldest daughter

    Which scene was your favorite?

Margo's unexpected meet ups with Griff, you knew they were going to be attracted to each other eventually. You also feel that this sort of thing happens in real life.I love all the narratives regarding the scenery of Nantucket. I would like to visit Nantucket someday.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I felt the character of the mother of the groom, Anne, a state senator, was whiney, mean spirited, and childish. Possibly mentally unbalanced. Made it hard to believe she could function at all as a state senator for 18 years....I was surprised her husband didnt leave her, but he didnt impress me either.
I could connect with grieving family and felt their loss while they were planning this special wedding
