I grew up in the 1950's in the hey day of Heinlein, Asimov, Norton, Dickson and other great hard Science Fiction writers. To a great extent the genre in trying to reinvent itself turned its back on the traditional Science Fiction Fan. John Scalzi's novels, like the juveniles of Charles Sheffield, have reinvigorated the old hard science fiction style. However, John Scalzi has gone Sheffield one better. Old Man's War, Ghost Brigade, etc have not only brought Heinleinian style Science Fiction back to life, but he has successfully put a modern spin on the style which gives a fresh perspective. Old Man's War is an amazing effort and like any good book it stands up to being read and re-read. The audio interpretation is very well done and the reader gets a 5 star rating to complement the story itself.

Robin Pilcher has written his best novel since An Ocean Apart. It is always fun to travel to where Mr. Pilcher wants to carry us and the where he takes us along the way provides all the fun. Well written and adept at bringing the six uniquely different individuals together at the Festival.

The story captured me from the Prologue and carried me through to the end. Jeffrey Archer once again painted the story like an artist on canvas and it was well worth the visit. I have been a fan of his for years and this is one of his best novels to date.

This was a very uplifiting story. While some of the situations do stretch the reader's credulity if you wait some of the biggest stretches of logic are at least brought into the realm of possibility. It does take a certain suspension of disbelief, but it is worth it. On top of that the characters are ones that are likeable and you want to find out not only their ultimate ends but sit back and enjoy the journey along the way. The reader is gifted and adds not distracts from the story. A genuine good listen!

I am a long time reader of Bill Baldwin's work and am especially fond of The Helmsman. I throughlly enjoyed the audio presentation. It did nothing to diminish my view of the novel and that is often not the case. I can highly reccomend this audio presentation and look forward as do others to further Wilf episodes.

Not being a regular and devoted fan of Danielle Steel or the romance novel genre for that matter, I picked up The Kiss with some skepticism. While the story is not heavily ladden with action it was unique in portraying two dysfunctional marriages, two people who fortutiously found one another and their struggles to deal with adversity and find a new life together. The characters of Bill and Isabell were well drawn and were sympathetic charcters with whom you could relate. While the plot devices are broad, the characters are strong enough to overcome the unlikely nature of the devices. Finally the reader did an excellent job of carrying forward the story with good voice changes to reflect each character.

A non stop action thriller that will keep you guessing. It is well read and acted by Stephen Lang and rates as one of the best audio books I have ever heard, and is an excellent abridgement of the book.
