It's summertime in Lake Eden, Minnesota, which means picnics aplenty for bakery proprietress and amateur sleuth Hannah. Then Uncle Gus is murdered following a big family reunion, and the only clues to be found at the crime scene are two slices of Hannah's infamous carrot cake.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

    Story lines are good.

What about Suzanne Toren’s performance did you like?

I like that Suzanne changes the voices to differentiate the characters, but wish she would not have some of the other women characters sound like babies. Can't all the grown ups have adult voices?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

The story is compelling and full of historical detail.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I wanted to keep listening to see what was going to happen next.

What does Edoardo Ballerini bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Mr. Ballerini has a wonderful resonance in his voice and is able to differentiate all the voices with great skill.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Too long to listen in one sitting, but the story has lots of twists and turns so definitely keeps you interested.
