I love audio books! I love listening to stories and feeling myself float away to be apart of the adventure.

If you could sum up The Zombie Survival Guide in three words, what would they be?

It would be "are you serious?" I love a good zombie game, movie or story; but, I can't tell if this guy is serious.

Who was your favorite character and why?

This is not applicable, but I was imagining one while listening. I don't know if that counts.

Have you listened to any of Marc Cashman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't, this book is just stating information, so I don't know if I was able to experience his full potential. He was a very good reader.

If you could rename The Zombie Survival Guide, what would you call it?

    "Zombie-Proofing for Dummies"

In the aftermath of his terrible war, Ender Wiggin disappeared, and a powerful voice arose: the Speaker for the Dead, who told the true story of the Bugger War. Now, long years later, a second alien race has been discovered by Portuguese colonists on the planet Lusitania. But again the aliens' ways are strange and frightening...again, humans die. And it is only the Speaker for the Dead, who is also Ender Wiggin the Xenocide, who has the courage to confront the mystery...and the truth.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, first for entertainment and second to give them a great life concept. When the truth is revealed, forgiveness, love, and a slew of other emotions can abound.

What other book might you compare Speaker for the Dead to and why?

My first thought was Ender's Game, of course. However, I think this book touches on some very great social issues, so maybe it could be used to help people accept one another.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I love the release felt at Marcao's "speaking." Just felt good to clear the air.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I really enjoyed this book, but I think I was glad that I experienced it piece by piece. As I mentioned in other comments, there are some deep concepts being discussed here. It goes slightly beyond making me think about just a story and a set of characters. Cultural differences, acceptance, and other items are covered in this book. So I wouldn't take it all in one sitting.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Never before has an author’s narration of his fiction been so important to fully grasping the book’s impact and global implications. Taking us from Afghanistan in the final days of its monarchy to the present, The Kite Runner is the unforgettable story of the friendship between two boys growing up in Kabul. Their intertwined lives, and their fates, reflect the eventual tragedy of the world around them.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Of course, it is a very descriptive and enlightening narrative of a basic story and a culture that, I feel, not many Americans know about.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Kite Runner?

There are many, but the first that comes to mind is when Amir's father save's the life of the mother they were escaping with.

What about Khaled Hosseini’s performance did you like?

He made it very easy to be engulfed in the story.

Who was the most memorable character of The Kite Runner and why?

    Amir's father!

Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

Where does Ender's Game rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I've listened to a lot of audio books, so maybe around tenth.

What did you like best about this story?

I love being apart of Ender's thought process!

What does Stefan Rudnicki and Harlan Ellison bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Attitude and variety. I love audio books for opening me up to a different way to see the story.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

He's our only hope, and he's six.

Pi Patel has been raised in a zoo in India. When his father decides to move the family to Canada and sell the animals to American zoos, everyone boards a Japanese cargo ship. The ship sinks, and 16-year-old Pi finds himself alone on a lifeboat with a hyena, an orangutan, a zebra with a broken leg, and a 450-pound Bengal tiger. Soon it's just Pi, the tiger, and the vast Pacific Ocean - for 227 days. Pi's fear, knowledge, and cunning keep him alive until they reach the coast of Mexico, where the tiger disappears into the jungle.

Would you listen to Life of Pi again? Why?

I would definitely listen to this book again. I have also been trying to get everyone I know to read or listen to it. I loved how descriptive the author was with this tale. I would find myself caught up imagining the situation that Pi found himself in with vivid detail. If you think about just the main premise (kid on a boat with a tiger for a long time), how much imagery can you really come up with?! Yann Martel gave me a wonderful experience with a character I will not soon forget.

Who was your favorite character and why?

It would obviously have to be Pi. He is a very strong character! I love his faith.

What about Jeff Woodman’s performance did you like?

He was consistent and clear. I dislike it when a book loses its magic because the person reading it fails to perform.

If you could take any character from Life of Pi out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Orange Juice. Everyone else will say Pi and the other options might eat you!
