I love the Castle TV series and that is the main reason that this series caught my eye. After reading the reviews, I was hesitant to purchase, but I thought with the new Audible guarantee, I couldn't lose. Boy am I glad that I took a chance!! These books are so entertaining and because of the TV series, I have real images in my head of the characters. Jamison Rook is wonderful! He is witty, helpful, boyish and smart. The perfect counter part to Nikki. I LOVE the narrator as well. In my opinion, his acting is dead on and his various voices are wonderful. I have never heard him before, but I will look to see if he has done anything else.
I HIGHLY recommend this series to anyone who wants a light hearted mystery. The huge benefit...they have written and produced good story with virtually no foul language. THANK YOU!!

What a great heroine! I am SO glad that I didn't listen to the other reviews and went ahead and listened to this book. I think Pen is probably my FAVORITE main character. Very well written-my breath actually physically caught in my throat a couple of times when Pen was so very hurt! But she perseveres despite all of the difficult situations that she has been in. She is a strong young woman who has had to become very independent. I am so happy that that she found the love she so desperatly craved.

Meanwhile, Mummy is holed up in a tiny village called Tiddleton-under-Lovey with that droll Noel Coward! And I’m snowed in at Castle Rannoch with my bumbling brother, Binky, and sourpuss sister-in-law, Fig.

The bizarre murder of a parish priest at a New York bondage club opens Nikki Heat's most thrilling and dangerous case so far, pitting her against New York's most vicious drug lord, an arrogant CIA contractor, and a shadowy death squad out to gun her down. And that is just the tip of an iceberg that leads to a dark conspiracy reaching all the way to the highest level of the NYPD.

I LOVE the series and really thought that the book might not be quite up to parr. I was not disappointed. I love to listen to a mystery and still be able to laugh. I thought the Johnny Heller did a stellar job reading also. Can't wait to listen to the others!!

This time she's sent to Nice on a secret assignment that's nothing to sneeze at: recover the Queen's stolen snuff box. This series started out "cute", but as I have listened further has gotten better. Now I find it very entertaining. Ms. Bowen is developing the characters quite nicely and is developing a wonderful comedic element that has actually had me laughing out loud. I would equate this series with the Stephanie Plum series without all the swearing. (Which is great to have a BREAK from). It is nice to listen to something set in the 1930's time period as well. VERY enjoyable and I hope there will be many more to come.

After coming off of an excellent story line it seemed that the author found it hard to find his way to the second part of the story. It is still interesting, although to me, not quite as engaging. Although that could have had something to do with switching readers. It is never a good idea to do this in a series, but most especially not to the author! They write a great story, but usually always are crappy readers. I am getting ready to start the 3rd book in the series and am hoping it will be better again, as it is back to the original reader.

Heralded as an instant classic of fantasy literature, Maguire has written a wonderfully imaginative retelling of The Wizard of Oz told from the Wicked Witch's point of view. More than just a fairy tale for adults, Wicked is a meditation on the nature of good and evil.

This series begins with a good storyline. Each of the first 6 books "righted a wrong" that happened to 6 women. When the 6th woman was avenged, the series should have ended. Instead we have men that were turned into blubbering morons and women who become bossy, rude, and masculine acting. Every book has the same lines over and over. "Her hand shot into the air" or "They stomped their feet" just to mention a couple out of MANY! In one book I lost track of how many times we were told that one of the characters got married. I don't enjoy listening to an author disrespect my country or the many groups of people that put their lives on the line for our citizens. And as the series progresses, the disrespect gets worse and worse. The story line completely falls apart and went from believable to ridiculous! Finally, there are some stories that require cussing, because it is "in character" and makes sense. The swearing in this story was senseless and did not fit in. These were educated people who couldn't seem to think of any other way to express themselves than with GD constantly. I don't think so! The ONLY reason that I continued to listen as far as I did, was that I had bought the audio books ahead and I couldn't even finish those! BIG MISTAKE!! Listen to the first 6 and then QUIT!!

When I want to learn I pick non-fiction book in an area that I am interested in. When I want to be entertained I pick a fiction book in a genre that appeals to me. At what point did the general public give authors and hollywood types, who in many instances have no higher education then I and in most cases a much lower moral standard, a foot in the door to "teach" me about what is correct politically, or morally ethical? Unless you want a "lesson" leave this book on the shelf!
