Having worked in and around the medical profession for years, my understanding of its evolution was dramatically increased after listening to this book. I found the book spellbinding and very novel-like in its presentation. It is always fulfilling when a book provides a high level of entertainment and knowledge at the same time. I have already recommended it to friends, both inside and out of the medical community.

I laughed then I cried and sometime I did both simultaneously. A story of triumph that shows how where we are from can be a blessing and a curse, but it is what we are. I was sorry when this story ended.

I've contemplated listening to this book for quite some time, but was wary because of some negative reviews. I am so glad I took the risk. This may be one of the most brilliantly written and narrated books I've experienced. Even if one doesn't immediately get all the connections between the stories, each one is noteworthy in inself. I found myself thinking back on it long after it was complete. I definitely need a second listen, and look forward to it.

Several different characters and their individual stories are intertwined in this enjoyable story. Some of the discoveries in the lives of the characters came a little too easily, too coincidentally, but otherwise it kept me guessing.
