A smashing, award-winning debut novel that introduces Charley Davidson: part-time private investigator and full-time Grim Reaper. Charley sees dead people. That’s right, she sees dead people. And it’s her job to convince them to “go into the light”. But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e. murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice. Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she’s been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all.

I was getting a little bored with Stephanie Plum so when I found this treasure I got really excited. I must say that Ms.Jones has a wonderful wit and the great judgement to get the talented Ms.King to be the voice of Charley! I am dying to read her next installment!! Kudos and brava with a snap!!

Maybe it was the Shenanigans gift certificate that put her over the edge. When children's librarian and self-professed nice girl Jane Jameson is fired by her beastly boss and handed $25 in potato skins instead of a severance check, she goes on a bender that's sure to become Half Moon Hollow legend. On her way home, she's mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead.

I originally thought like a lot of ppl this was a Sookie Stackhouse rip off however it has it's own charm and voice. I enjoyed the narrator and the writing is funny. I had to turn it off while in bed because I kept waking up my spouse with my laughter.

The dangerous, fanatical Imperial Order, under the leadership of the power-mad Emperor Jagang and his multitude of demonic underlings, unleashes a deadly plague. To find a cure, Richard Cypher and his beloved Kahlan Amnell must seek out the legendary Temple of the Winds, a fortress of evil sealed away for three thousand years. But the path of the Seeker of Truth is never an easy one - even if he can reach the Temple at all, there is no guarantee he'll ever return.

Danielle says: "Good book, poor narration"
"Her name is Kahlen not Colin!!"
    Overall

Like most people I have been ensnared by this series. Terry Goodkind knows how to weave a magical tale; however it is totally butchered by Dick Hill's narration. If you can get past the fact that this gentlemen mispronouces Kahlen's name often calling her different variations of Colin then it is worth listening to. I found myself every two minutes having to remember who Colin is!! Lucky for us he only narrates one of this series. It is amazing to me that the editors let this go. It is a long book and how do you not realize the mispronunciations!! I still enjoyed the story and will continue to purchase these books as long as Dick Hill is NOT the narrator!!
