This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

This is a enjoyable story, flowing easily through out, keeping me involved as the story unfolds. I recommend this book to all. Not only because of length of the book, but because it is entertaining. It drew me in from the beginning and held me engaged to the last sentence. Truly a good strong beginning to a series. Only draw back is the waiting for the next book to come out and Audible to get it :) hopefully that will not be long since the sequel (day 2) will be release the March.

Since 1990, when Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time® burst on the world with its first book, The Eye of the World, listeners have been anticipating the final scenes of this extraordinary saga, which has sold over 40 million copies in over 32 languages. When Robert Jordan died in 2007, all feared that these concluding scenes would never be written. But working from notes and partials left by Jordan, established fantasy writer Brandon Sanderson stepped in to complete the masterwork.

The final book to the series of "The Wheel of Time" a LLLOOOONNNGG awaited conclusion. Brandon Sanderson did not disappoint this Robert Jordan fan with the finish of the series. The Listen was capturing and spellbinding from the begining to the end. I laughed at Matt... and cried before, during and after the Battle of Light against the Shadow. This is a great ending to Robert Jordans "Wheel of Time series, but I can say that it felt like a new beginning. I HIGHLY recommend this series to all who are looking for a good listen. I do not think you will be disappointed

In this stunning sequel to the highly acclaimed Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Karou must come to terms with who and what she is, and how far she'll go to avenge her people. Filled with heartbreak and beauty, mysteries and secrets, new characters and old favorites, Days of Blood and Starlight brings the richness, color and intensity of the first book to a brand new canvas.

The second book to the series is NOT a disappointment. The story continues with Karou, and her friends.

Laini Taylor continues with her excellent writing style. She is able to create a story that not only allows us to listen to it's easy flow, but experience the many emotions of Karou's and her friends. The fear, loss, desire, joy, to mention only a few of the emotions.

Again, I recommend this series to all fantasy listener.

She fills her sketchbooks with monsters that may or may not be real; she's prone to disappearing on mysterious "errands"; she speaks many languages - not all of them human; and her bright blue hair actually grows out of her head that color.

The first book of a new series. Daughter of Smoke and Bone is a fun Story of a girl/woman that is caught between love and cultures. Laini Taylor created a new world, but combined our world into a mix that works. Although this book and series could be considered a YA series. Older adults can enjoy the listen as well.

Yes I would recommend this series to others. I feel comparisons of other series to this would be "The House of Night" series by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast, or "Vampire Earth" by E.E. Knight. they are all easy listen, with some humor.

Only complaint is the series is slow coming, one has to wait for the next installment. :)

I have waited so very long for the conclusion to this series, and this Prologue is a small taste to what an ending it will be. This small segment held me spellbound, not wanting it to end... but of course, it did. I am truly waiting for the book.

Brandon Sanderson has done justice to the last two books he has written in this series. Although his style is different, it is not so different then Jordan to stop the enriched story from continuing.

I recommend this series to all fantasy readers.

When after a year of searching, Jace finds Miri in a Sanctuary enclave, he has only one vow: to take back what's his.

    Story

Jared is a great continuation of the Johnson family. Jared is the second book to this series and is not a disappointment. It has the same flow as the first "Caleb", but the storyline is different.

Jared is the second brother to Caleb. He is the doer, the organizer of protection for the family, the enforcer... He has cut the connections to his feeling, executing the role of enforcer and opting not to feel for anyone but his family. Family is very important and friends come in second. "No one" has the right to hurt his family, and the person that changed his brother Caleb was going to pay.

I again recommend this series to fellow listeners. The story line flows smoothly and the content is rich and full of values, right and wrong, love and hate, that make the story excellent and totally enjoyable. Again, there are sex scenes, but not so many that fast-forwarding (if you want or need to) will make you lose the whole story... :) .

Tavia Gilbert did a lot better with narration this time. Although there were a few places, my nerves were on edge.

    Overall another great read.

The loss of control. The fear of desire. Allie always thought that mysteriously sexy rancher Caleb Johnson wanted her as much as she wanted him. But since he never acted on it, she was ready to admit defeat. Until the night she was attacked by a vicious wolf, only to be rescued by another. In the triumphant, bloodied male, there was something Allie recognized---the baritone growl, the mesmerizing eyes, the inexplicable animal attraction. Her savior was Caleb.

    Story

True love and romance, with a bit of humor added. Caleb the novel was all that but, just a little bit more. The story runs smoothly and the depth of the characters delighted me.I have stayed away from most vampire books, because the S and M. aspects of the stories. This book also has the sex in it, but it seems to "me" it is more within the realms of a relationship development then how many you can do. For me it was easier to get through and was not as degrading.

This vampire story is a different angle then most vampire tales. This story is about the human aspects of a vampire, the continuation of family and friend relationship, desires of the heart, fears, insecurities, etc, it totally pulled me in and left me wanting the next story, not many books are like that. Although there are battles and weir wolfs with blood and gore. This book is well developed and a fun listen.

Tavia Gilbert almost ruined this book for me. Her character reading for Allie sounded more like a spoiled brat trying to be a winey, tough girl, rather than a adult woman knowing her own mind, and trying to go get it.

Caleb is a story that can stand alone, but has a cliffhanger ended letting the listener know that there is more to come. It was a great listen and I for one recommend the book and look forward to the series.
