  • American Assassin

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 36 mins)
    • By Vince Flynn
    • Narrated By George Guidall
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Before he was considered a CIA superagent, before he was thought of as a terrorists worst nightmare, and before he was both loathed and admired by the politicians on Capitol Hill, Mitch Rapp was a gifted college athlete without a care in the world . . . and then tragedy struck.

    Lesley says: "Flynn never disappoints"
    "Flynn never disappoints"

There's a reason Flynn is considered the king of the hill when it comes to this brand of thriller! He's has done it again with American Assassin. Although its been a long time coming, this latest Mitch Rapp adventure does not disappoint and has been worth the wait. It is as fresh as the first installment of the series, Transfer of Power, and continues to be up to date as today's news, as are all his novels. Brad Thor, Daniel Silva, Stephen Coonts, WEB Griffin and maybe even Ted Bell, with the amazing Sir Alexander Hawk are all paying homage to American Assassin this morning as being the new benchmark,
Thank you Mr.Fynn for always producing first rate material that is narrated by the master with a voice that make the words come alive, Mr George Guidall.
This Thriller is worth the credits or dollars and has left me waiting for the next Vince Flynn installment

  • The Weight

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 11 mins)
    • By Andrew Vachss
    • Narrated By Buck Schirner

Sugar is that rarest of commodities: an old-school professional thief, tough and loyal as a pit bull, packing 255 pounds of muscle. When he’s picked out of a photo array in a vicious rape case, the cops find his apartment empty. A stakeout catches Sugar when he returns... carrying a loaded pistol.

Lesley says: "slow start but makes up for it in the end"
"slow start but makes up for it in the end"

This one is well worth the time and $ but starts slow but gets the job done in the way only Vachss is so well known for. This is not a Burke novel and some may try to hold it to that litmas, but it is best left judged as a stand alone work if you are a Burke fan. Vachss has once again given us an education in an area most will never have the courage to ever go and make it a pleasure to experience. So sit back and enjoy.

  • Worth Dying For: A Jack Reacher Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 45 mins)
    • By Lee Child
    • Narrated By Dick Hill
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

There’s deadly trouble in the corn country of Nebraska... and Jack Reacher walks right into it. First he falls foul of the Duncans, a local clan that has terrified an entire county into submission. But it’s the unsolved case of a missing child, already decades-old, that Reacher can’t let go. The Duncans want Reacher gone - and it’s not just past secrets they’re trying to hide. They’re awaiting a secret shipment, and they have the kind of customers no one can afford to annoy.

Ed says: "Classic, Kick-Butt Jack Reacher"
    "Reacber never fails"

Lee Child never fails to entertain and Worth Dying For is one more fabulous novel in a line of great novels! You might think The Reacher character would be near the end, however Child has upped the anty one more time. I loved this one from start to finish. Worth Dying For has action from start to finish and has no filler in between. Dick Hill is the master of his craft and never so much as Reacher.
Thank you Mr Child for a wonderful ride and please keep them coming.

  • Power Down: Dewey Andreas, Book 1

    • UNABRIDGED (16 hrs and 27 mins)
    • By Ben Coes
    • Narrated By Peter Hermann

There was one factor that the terrorists didn’t take into account when they struck the Capitana oil platform off the coast of Colombia - slaughtering much of the crew and blowing up the platform - and that was the Capitana crew chief, Dewey Andreas. Dewey, former Army Ranger and Delta, survives the attack, rescuing as many of his men as possible. But the battle has just begun....

Tommy says: "The best thing to happen since Mitch Rapp!"
    "OH MAN, WHAT A RIDE!!!"

My goodness where has Ben Coes been. Please do yourself a favor and buy this one.
Power Down is a mix of Flynn's, Mitch Rapp guts, Thor's, Scott Harvath painful humor, and can it even be compared to Andrew Vachss's action? OH YES AND MORE!!! Trust me when I say you will absolutely enjoy POWER DOWN. I have listened to every book in every series that is remotely of this type of thriller and Ben Coes has done the unthinkable with his first outing in matching step for step with even my favorite Ted Bell with Alex Hawk. The one thing this book is missing is fluff. No mind numbing deep delving into why the trees are so green just to add words to the page. As I listened it just got better!
So do Power Down and Ben Coes the favor of our support and enable him to give us a second installment with the amazing Dewey Andeas, the Rapp and Harvath of this great Thriller.

  • Warlord: An Alex Hawke Thriller

    • UNABRIDGED (16 hrs and 52 mins)
    • By Ted Bell
    • Narrated By John Shea
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Alex Hawke has all but given up on life. The British-American MI6 counterterrorism operative lost the woman he loved almost a year ago and has sought refuge at the bottom of a rum bottle ever since. But late one night at his home on Bermuda, he receives a wake-up call... literally. His Royal Highness Prince Charles, an old friend, desperately needs his help. The prince has discovered a not-so-subtle threat directed toward the British royal family.

G.Monie says: "Typical Alex Hawke, Wanna be Bond..."
    "Waiting for # 5"

On a scale of 1-5 Warlord is a 6. Bell has absalutely done it again!!! This is the best of the series and will keep you laughing or intrench until the very end. Thank you Mr. Bell for such a wounderful batch of caractors with a narrator that is unmatch in a story that can only come from the vivid mind of Master Dr Bell.

  • The Winter of Frankie Machine

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 12 mins)
    • By Don Winslow
    • Narrated By Dennis Boutsikaris
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Frank Machianno is a late-middle-aged ex-surf bum who runs a bait shack on the San Diego waterfront. An affable Italian with a love of people and life, he's a stand-up businessman, devoted father, and a beloved fixture in the community. He's also a hit man - specifically, a retired hit man. Back in the day when he was one of the most feared members of the West Coast Mafia, he was known as Frankie Machine.

Surf City Swami says: "The Winter of Frankie Machine is a ray of sunshine"

Absolutely the Best. Where has this novel been hiding all my life. Winslow has given it all to us in Frannkie the Machine, you won't put your Ipod down and you might not even loose some sleep until you've finished.
    Consider yourself dully warned.
ENJOY!!! PS You owe it to yourself to get The power of the Dog, after you finish this one!

  • The Power of the Dog

    • UNABRIDGED (20 hrs and 13 mins)
    • By Don Winslow
    • Narrated By Ray Porter

This explosive novel of the drug trade takes you deep inside a world riddled with corruption, betrayal, and bloody revenge. From the streets of New York City to Mexico City and Tijuana to the jungles of Central America, this is the war on drugs like you've never seen it.

Leslie says: "Amazing Novel, Excellent Narration"
"as great as Frankie or better"

I just found Winslow and can't believe I have never heard of him before now. His writing is up to par or better than Fynn, Crais, Lee, Connelly ext. The Power of the Dog had my attention from the first minute and kept it until the last words of the pro log. I loved it and will listen to the remaining two books he has here, one being Dawn Patrol which is down loading now.
Winslow has a gift for being able to describe a brutal killing while adding the best of dry humor which he does superbly. The characters are complex, perfectly developed through the balance of the book but easily followed and I felt like I was in Calif. and Central America by the time it was finished, all the while you are experiencing a killing spree during the process.
I hope you enjoy this fast paced (A huge understatement) thriller while being absolutely abhorred with our Governments actions during this time period and being totally entertained during the journey that Winslow has so masterfully written.
Buy this one, you will enjoy it!!!
PS Franky the Machine is just as great as this one is!
