Respectfully, Gabaldon would have benefitted from a more forceful editor. She spends endless chapters covering just one day in the story. We get that there were several babies involved with the major characters. We all know what young babies do. There's no need to tell us every time they eat and to discuss diapers (clouts) at length.
Yes, but the books are getting worse over time. This story is something you sort of have to force your way through to keep up with the saga.
Yes. She is very good.
If you want to follow along with the story, you have no choice. But honestly, the saga is past its peak.
Of course not!
I can't imagine why anyone would select this narrator for this particular novel. She sounds like an elderly chain smoker.
