He's a PI trying to put his life in perspective after his last go-round with the ultimate evil, but the chilling phrase returns again: "Your sister is going to hell, Jack Nightingale." This time it is uttered by a dead woman hanging over a staircase, her neck broken by the laundry cord she tied around it before tossing herself over the banister. But Jack and his sister have been separated since birth. How can he save someone he’s never met?

This book really began to annoy me about two hour in.
it seemed the author followed the same plot from the first book; only super sized the scene
within the plot by three; more suicides, more devil, more marlboro cigarettes.
to me it was like every person you came across is a chain smokers.
the constant repeat of establish ideas, force me a few time to stop the recording, i found the story was difficult to listen to. Jack Nightingale You are going to Hell and you are a little psychotic.

Mercenary Kate Daniels and her mate, Curran, the Beast Lord, are struggling to solve a heartbreaking crisis. Unable to control their beasts, many of the Pack’s shape-shifting children fail to survive to adulthood. While there is a medicine that can help, the secret to its making is closely guarded by the European packs, and there’s little available in Atlanta. Kate can’t bear to watch innocents suffer, but the solution she and Curran have found threatens to be even more painful. The European shape-shifters who once outmaneuvered the Beast Lord have asked him to arbitrate a dispute - and they’ll pay him in medicine.

Magic Rises as been the most expansive of the series, giving a greater view of what a world full of magic waves would be like. the plot also includes many of our favorite characters has they struggle cross the Atlantic to the black sea on a mission they know is a trap and a situation they may not survive so far from the heart of their stronghold.
there was tragedy, love, mystery, war,Joy new discoveries that would shock many

while listening to the audiobook i didn't believe Kate would win in the end, with the overwhelming odds stock against the Atlanta group and with new and old powers rising from all around them.

the narration was well performed by Renee, Magic Rises is an excellent book to add to any reading list for the summer.

For a 2,000-year-old Druid, Atticus O’Sullivan is a pretty fast runner. Good thing, because he’s being chased by not one but two goddesses of the hunt - Artemis and Diana - for messing with one of their own. Dodging their slings and arrows, Atticus, Granuaile, and his wolfhound Oberon are making a mad dash across modern-day Europe to seek help from a friend of the Tuatha Dé Danann. His usual magical option of shifting planes is blocked, so instead of playing hide-and-seek, the game plan is...run like hell.

Some zombies are raised. Others must be put down. Just ask Anita Blake. Before now, she would have considered them merely off-putting, never dangerous. Before now, she had never heard of any of them causing human beings to perish in agony. But that’s all changed. Micah's estranged father lies dying, rotting away inside from some strange ailment that has his doctors whispering about "zombie disease". Anita makes her living off of zombies - but these aren’t the kind she knows so well. These creatures hunt in daylight, and are as fast and strong as vampires.

    Story

This book was a much better performance than the previous "kiss the Dead" published by the author, the Narrator Kimberly Alexis did an excellent job with voice narration bringing to life the characters we all know and love.

the story plot over several books within the series have become less cohesive; has many of the characters are changing from their Norms i find that they are evolving into less ideal and easily compromising versions of themselves, I find that some of the primary characters are not who i thought them to be.
Micah for example, i was greatly disappointed in Micah, not for the violence he use to gather the animal groups to Him, but for having sex with the many women of these groups.the relationship between Micah Anita and Nathanael was the most loving and balance relationship of the group. i felt like i was lied to by Micah, setting him on a pedestal of ideals, thinking his orverall commitment to the relationship between him. Anita and Nathanael was one of faithfulness were Anita and Nathanael been the only one for him mind, body and soul. but finding out that he like so many of her other men will sleep with anyone if the situation presents itself.

Affliction was a great improvement to the series, but the overall story seems a repeat of previous books, only placed on a grander scale, i believe the series should come to an end soon before it becomes a greater disappointment to its fans.

Vampire bounty hunter Morgan Bailey wants three things for her birthday: cupcakes, a little action from her sexy new boyfriend, and a good night’s sleep. After the year she’s had, is a quiet celebration really so much to ask? Apparently…yes. It turns out a psychotic sidhe - a subspecies of fae - is running amok in Portland, and it’s up to Morgan to take him down. There’s just one problem: this fairy is as powerful as he is psychotic. And considering the supernatural nut jobs Morgan has dealt with, that’s saying something.

Vampire bounty hunter Morgan Bailey needs a break. A girl can handle only so much drama - and her latest assignments have definitely brought the drama. So when her boss mentions an assignment in London, Morgan jumps at the chance to get back to her roots and do what she does best: a good old-fashioned vamp hunt. She should have known better.

Iris Scanlon, Half-Moon Hollow's only daytime vampire concierge, knows more about the undead than she'd like. Running all their daylight errands - from letting in the plumber to picking up some chilled O neg - gives her a look at the not-so-glamorous side of vampire life. Her rules are strict; relationships with vamps are strictly business, not friendship - and certainly not anything else. But then she finds her newest client, Cal, poisoned on his kitchen floor, and only Iris can help.
