A great tale of the Doctor in a remote location with strange goings on. Of course, that describes just about every Doctor Who story, but this one raises the bar and is quite well performed.
I started reading Mr. Sanderson's works after hearing that he would be taking over the Wheel of Time series, and I was quite impressed. The scope which he gives the reader in his works is amazing, as is the focus on the character's development. He has outdone himself with The Way of Kings. He gives us the character's past to show what is motivating current events in a way that I find quite novel, and leads us to learn more of the world in ways that will expand in the next books in the series.
