  • Everyone Worth Knowing

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 15 mins)
    • By Lauren Weisberger
    • Narrated By Laurel Lefkow
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

The in-crowd wears Gucci, but one girl wears her heart on her sleeve. When a chance meeting propels Bette into a new role as a party planner, she can hardly believe her luck. A job that pays you to party! Running with the cool Manhattan pack, gaining VIP access to the city's hottest spots, and meeting "everyone worth knowing" is a million miles away from the number-crunching and paper-pushing of her old banking job. Overnight, the greatest city in the world has become her sexy, late-night playground.

    Hildegard says: "Disappointing"

I was hesitant to buy this book after reading some negative reviews on Amazon, but I gave it a go and I have to say it was kind of fun and hard to stop listening to. I think this one is even better than The Devil Wears Prada and recommend this book if you want something light to read.

  • Can You Keep a Secret?

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 19 mins)
    • By Sophie Kinsella
    • Narrated By Gracie Thomas

Nervous flyer Emma is sitting on a turbulent plane. She really thinks that this could be her last moment. So she starts telling the man sitting next to her all her innermost secrets, including how she once threw a troublesome client file in the bin. She survives the flight, of course, and the next morning the famous boss of the whole mega corporation she works for is coming for a look at the UK branch. As he walks around, Emma looks up and realises it's the man from the plane.

    Eve says: "An enjoyable listen"
    "Good Fun"

I don't often laugh aloud when reading books, but this one had me smiling and laughing the whole way through. It was cute, romantic and an enjoyable fluffy read. I was disappointed that the ending seemed a bit rushed and the Connor character was not exactly believable the whole way through, but I still would recommend this book for light reading.

  • Crime and Punishment (Recorded Books Edition)

    • UNABRIDGED (25 hrs and 5 mins)
    • By Fyodor Dostoevsky
    • Narrated By George Guidall
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Fyodor Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment is universally regarded as one of literature's finest achievements, as the great Russian novelist explores the inner workings of a troubled intellectual. Raskolnikov, a nihilistic young man in the midst of a spiritual crisis, makes the fateful decision to murder a cruel pawnbroker, justifying his actions by relying on science and reason, and creating his own morality system. Dehumanized yet sympathetic, exhausted yet hopeful, Raskolnikov represents the best and worst elements of modern intellectualism. The aftermath of his crime and Petrovich's murder investigation result in an utterly compelling, truly unforgettable cat-and-mouse game. This stunning dramatization of Dostoevsky's magnum opus brings the slums of St. Petersburg and the demons of Raskolnikov's tortured mind vividly to life.

    Greg says: "Wonderful Book"

I read this book over 10 years ago, but listening to it now 10 years later I have gain even more appreciation for this wonderful masterpiece and the psychological play between the characters. The reader is one of the finest and I find myself looking for other books he has narrated.

    "More Please"

Having read the Clan of the Cave Bear series several times, listening to this on audible was just revisiting an old favorite. The reader was excellent. I really enjoy this series, but audible should have acquired The Clan of the Cave Bear first as Valley of the Horses is the second book in the series. Please audible, let's get more in the series starting with the first one.
