Sharon Smith thinks Walkersville is a safe haven. Still bruised by the loss of her husband, a man she thought she knew until his death exposed his secrets, all she wants is the peace and quiet of small town life. Brand Templeton thinks Walkersville is a crime scene. He’s returned to Hawk Haven to lay claim to his father’s empire and revenge the cruelty that led to his mother’s death. Now they must help each other to face the ghosts of their past if either is to have a chance at a future.

    Story

The performance was good but parts of this story drove me crazy. The main male was a jerk and the main female a pushover. The author started with some basic assumptions about women that were quite insulting. The male found himself attracted to the female when she broke the "mold" of every women he's know by having the occasional bout of strength or independence. But at every opportunity, she succeeded all her power to him. Even after he'd blackmailed and betrayed her. Yeah, entertaining but frustrating.

    Story

The narrator's lisp is really distracting early on. I was eventually able to ignore it. The story itself is entertaining. I enjoyed the honest characters. They were refreshing.
