There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

    Magpie says: "Super solid listen!!"
    "Wonderful story!"

This is my first review here. 14 is one of the best and most surprising books I've ever read. I think it takes a few ideas for some TV shows. From "Lost" is simply takes the idea of building tons of unanswered mysteries at the beginning with the promise of tying them all together later. What it does better than Lost though is that it actually does tie them together and better than that it is done in a very interesting way! It also takes an idea from "Heroes" with the line "Save the building, save the world" which is obviously not all that different than "Save the cheerleader, save the world". It is a prophecy that adds a lot of intrigue.

I couldn't predict where the story was going and loved every twist and turn of the book! 5 stars!
