My children are familiar with this story and enjoyed listening to Melba Sibrel's narration. They laughed at her funny voices for the ducks and giggled at the silly ducks throughout the story. I found the voices slightly crazy, but my children loved them.

Lynn Austin has yet to disappoint me with one of her stories. Always so neatly woven together & mixed with history I find them hard to resist and put down. This is most certainly Christian Fiction, which for me is another added bonus.

Some listeners may feel concerned upon the opening scene where it's implied that something very wrong has happened between an uncle & a niece, but whatever that thing is, it's never mentioned in any detail in the book. It's merely an always lingering fact between some of the characters.

I'm not generally one to listen or read heaps of nonfiction books. Yet this book had been in my pile so long that our local homeschooling library called and asked if I could please return it. Whoops! I quickly downloaded a copy from Audible & spent the next few days listening to it while I walked.

The book is well written & full of great ideas regardless of the homeschool method you may be using. While it is written under the pretence that a Charlotte Mason Education is best, I think there's a little of something in there for everyone.

It was certainly an easy listen, despite being non-fiction. In fact, the only real downside was that I was out walking & not at home so I could jot down notes about what I was hearing!

Mattie Cook is the young daughter of the widow who owns and runs the local Coffee Shop in Boston in 1793. She watches loved ones around her fall ill & is whisked away to safety in hopes of keeping her from catching the growing unknown epidemic. The story was a true page turner & my children were eager to listen to the very end.

The story is well written and gives you an amazing idea of what it must have been like to have lived during that time period. It doesn't sugar coat the rougher parts or the areas where life wasn't grand. The Narrator does a fantastic job with differing voices for the many characters within the book as well. That's always a bonus!

My children are big fans of L.A.R.A.the Spy Dog with her one sticky up ear and one floppy ear, & with a busy week of running around I quickly downloaded Superbrain for them to listen to in the car. They were taken aback by the English accented narrator as they are use to me reading the books allowed to them, but honestly it was only fitting to hear an English Accent with these books.

New readers/listeners to the Spy Dog series may find some of the narration unusual as it's difficult, at times, to know that some of the spoken word is what L.A.R.A. is thinking, but even still the book was well done & we fully enjoyed the latest instalment with the Cook family. Now if only we could have a little bit of the Professors Brain Powder Formula...

I'm a big Lynn Austin fan, and this book was just as good as all the rest. Historical Fiction mixed with Christian Fiction & a delightful combination. I truly loved listening to this book & found it hard to turn off when other things needed my attention. It's always a true delight when both story & narrator do an amazing top notch job!

This book was very captivating for me and I found it hard to stop listening. The narrating was beautifully done and the story itself was beautifully done.

This was a delightful story about the love of family, nature, and life in general. I really enjoyed this story and the fun relationship between Grandfather and Granddaughter. Despite the name of the book evolution isn't use in it's typical argumentative state in this book. Rather it refers to the ever changing and evolving person we become as we grow and mature.

I really, really, really enjoyed this story. It was quite hard to put down and we really enjoyed the narrating with all the different voices for each character. Yes, the mayor was a tad wheezy, but it fit him perfectly. We've enjoyed listening to this story several times all ready!

This was a fun story, but I was disappointed with some of the language in this book. There were some strong words used and a rather detailed adult ending in the second to last chapter. Aside from that it was a fun story and the narrating was terrific.

I really enjoy the Mr Monk stories, they are always funny and a quick listen. I was slightly disappointed in this one due to the context of the story. I didn't expect there to be language in this book, and there was a great deal of it. There was also other very adult topics in this story, something I don't recall being in any of the other Monk stories I've listened to. I love the way Angela Brazil captures the voice of Natalie so well, I was just slightly disappointed in some of the content of this particular story.
