I didn't care for the way the story is told. The author retraces May's life and at the same time, tells how her research was done and compares May's life experiences to her own. I would have preferred May's story being told by May.
Reading part 1 of this series does make part 2 more enjoyable but don't have to read part 1, "Her Mother's Hope." I felt it had too much Christianity in it although that is what made the characters of this book, the author could have skirted around the religion. It is a bitter sweet story that completes the 2-art series.
Wonderful story of a women who, against all odds, leaves her family and makes it on her own in 3 different countries. It is a story of non-communication between mother and daughter but great love from both. It's a woman's book and I enjoyed it very much.
I was looking for a mystery with maybe a love story as a secondary plot. Was disappointed that the mystery was the secondary plot and the love story was the mail part.
I would have made the affair between Gray and Faith the secondary plot and what happened to Guy the mail plot.
Fabulous. Got hooked from the start and it only got better as I listened. It's one of those books you're sorry it ended and you continue to think about long after your done.
