I read this book from an old edition some years ago and the audiobool is really great also. Hours and hours of immersive 'reading' and learning about how Hitler rose to power and became master of Germany and Europe. The audio version is really nice. A true classic well reproduced in audio. Thumbs up!
The book offer a vietnamese perspective of the conflict from both North and South. It is not an all-american centered book.
President Lindon Johnson is a very complex characther - as most people are - and acted under extreme pressure and was influenced by many different and conflicting interests in the US and Vietnam, but ultimately he was responsible for the American policy towards Vietnam and the escalation of the conflict.
There is no specific scene do comment on in this book.
It offers a deep insight on rhe nature of conflicts and how interests move histpry more than beliefs. It is very hard for leaders not to compromise or take different courses to remain on power or to achieve part of what they believe to be right.
