"Perverted sums it up"
Foul language and inappropriate subject material involving children.
Disgust
Won't be buying any of his recordings
"Love these disaster stories!"
Although not scientifically correct in some details, this book is a fascinating read. It emphasizes the psychology of disaster and makes you examine your beliefs and motivations. A real page-turner. Can't wait to enjoy it again.
"Like with Like!"
A quick read with pithy points. Nothing really new but an enjoyable look at being organized. Changed a few of my less desirable habits I believe.
"Love anything about TJ"
I enjoyed the listen because I love hearing about Thomas Jefferson but I cannot say the book was "exciting." It was long, and at times wordy but I will probably listen to it again. Anyone who does not enjoy history would probably be bored with it.
"Yuck"
Didn't even get through the first chapter before I returned it. Couldn't get past the crudeness and foul language. Would not recommend it or buy another from this author.
"My favorite ND mystery!"
I loved Nancy Drew as a child and read every book I could get my hands on. Listening to this one again took me back to a simpler time. I have to say I still found the story very enjoyable. Fast moving and full of detail and suspense. Great listen for a fan!
"Returned it."
Seemed like a fluff story and was somewhat enjoyable but couldn't get past the swearing and so I returned it.
Why create a character with such a foul mouth?
Ruined the book.
"Long and annoying"
I really like David McCullough and I expected this to be an historical work, but it just seemed to go on and on with too many details. Took me weeks to get through it.
I would have enjoyed it much more if were read by the author. (e.g. 1776)
The narration only added to the slow movement of the book. The narrator paused frequently and made annoying noises that were distracting.
It already has.
I love books about history but this one was not a favorite. I doubt I would try to get through it ever again.
"Comfort food"
This book is squeaky clean and delightful. The whole series is wonderful. I have read these books multiple times and each time find new things to love. The recording makes it really come to life. Mitford is the town I escape to when things get crazy.
"Still doesn't thrill me"
Nope.
I read this when I was young and was bored with it. The performance helped me get through it again but I was still bored. I know a lot of people love these stories - so I tried to like it, really I did.
The performance of all the characters was really quite remarkable. My only complaint would be the annoying little stops and starts in the recording.
I tried. Didn't like that either.
"Cute but really short"
Yes. I love BP and the narration was lively.
Make it longer
There were only two.
Loved the illustrations. Great little story for a child.
