"Not worth it"
My third attempt at giving this author a fair chance, it will be my last. Started the books from the beginning, only hoping the writing would get better. It doesn't. This one was very frustrating. The storyline for Lena was ridiculous and the narrater is absolutely one of the worst I've listened to. Not worth the money or the time. Third strike you're out!
"WOW!!"
On the edge of my seat through out most of this fantastic book! Just how I like them. I will have to say P.T. Deutermann has become one of my new favorite authors. Of course Dick Hill's amazing talent, makes this book a 10!
"Huge Disappointment"
I have listened to all 14 previous JP Beaumont novels. They were great!! I could NOT believe the disappointment (to put it mildly), I felt when I began to listen to this horrific tragedy. Who ever decided to change narrators and not offer the unabridged version should be shot!!!! This was disgusting!!! The narrator was horrible not too mention not even close to Gene Engene as JP Beaumont. I am contacting Audible for a refund and the author to find out who is responsible for such a devastating decision. Don't waste your money or a credit you will be sorry.
"Bad Narration ruins the book"
Why is it the publisher has to ruin a perfectly good series by not only changing the narrator mid stream but changing to a narrator that was worse than the last.
As an avid, borderline obsessive audio book listener, the narration is just as important as the story itself in my opinion. It took me awhile to get past the nasal Hillary Huber, but she established herself as the voice of Joanna Brady.
Fortunately if the author is good, you can most times overlook bad narration, but it is not enjoyable. This is the case with C.J. Critt. Terrible inflections and a much too old of a voice for Joanna. Not to mention not very good with continuity.
Will probably move pass the books she has narrated in this series and try the next narrator.
"Surprisingly Good"
I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this book. The story line was great! First time reading Nora Roberts but with that said I have read/listened to all of her JD Robb books. I will definitely read more of Nora!
"10 Stars!!!"
I love listening to Kirsten Potter she does such a fabulous job with Lisa's work. I did not read the printed version so I couldn't answer that. The only thing I can say is Lisa's writing is soooooo amazing I am sure it would be just as good.
As usual with all of Lisa's books, it most certainly did!! I could not stop listening. It is so sad when the book comes to an end, you just want it to go on forever. In my opinion no one compares to Lisa Gardner. She has a way of putting you right there and keeping you there. I loved everything about this book!
Yes, she is fantastic. The fact that she is reading for Lisa makes it even better!
Hard to say, there were several. It amazes me that her books just keep getting better and better. How does she do it?
Please do not make us wait too long for another book!!!
"Huge Disappoinment"
Not sure it was boring
It seems Patricia has lost her touch. Kay Scarpetta has become droll and irritating. Her ego is borderline obnoxious and she has no personality. I have read all of her books and this one is the worst. The story line did not even come close to keeping my interest. I started and stopped the book on several occasions. Patricia will have to give Kay an entire new make-over and her plots will have to be a little more thrilling for me to read another one of her books.
I have not problem with Kate's performance. She is a great narrator. It was what she had to work with that I had a problem with.
Most of them
Can I get my money back?
"She nails it!!!"
The fact that the original narrators for each character read their parts
There is none other that I am aware of. It is very unique and took a lot of guts to pull this off
All the narrators were fantastic as they are the original for the characters
That would be impossible to say because I am a fan of all three and the way she was able to actually get them to talk to her was truly inventive. All three stories are very clever.
I enjoyed the concept as much as the actual stories. I give a lot of credit to M. J. for capturing the true likeness of all three characters!! Job well done!!
"Loved it!!"
It would be really difficult to dislike any book that the late Kate Fleming narrated. With that said, the story itself was fantastic! Well written and kept my interest the entire way. So glad to have found this author. I am looking forward to listening to this entire series!!
"Amazing!!!"
Lisa Gardner is truly a master!! Anna Fields is one to the most talented narrators of all time! Together they are an unstoppable team! This books is one you just can't put down! Simply AMAZING!!
