When an attack leaves one of the members of the Women's Murder Club struggling for her life, the others fight to keep a madman behind bars before he hurts anyone else. And Lindsay Boxer and her new partner in the San Francisco police department try to stop a series of kidnappings: children and their nannies are being plucked off the streets.

    David says: "disappointing at best"
    "book, OK; narrator,ick"
    Overall

The book was a typical Patterson book, Just fine and enjoyable. But I did not care at all for the narrator. She was not consistent in using voices for the same characters, and prefered a high pitched voice for men.....need I say more?

In a time long forgotten, a preternatural event threw the seasons off balance. In a land where summers can last decades and winters a lifetime, trouble is brewing. As the cold returns, sinister forces are massing beyond the protective wall of the kingdom of Winterfell. To the south, the king's powers are failing, with his most trusted advisor mysteriously dead and enemies emerging from the throne's shadow.

I listened to the prologue 3 times and still didn't really "hear" anything. Not sure if it is the content or the narrator, but after an hours walk I still had no idea what was happening. I have no desire to try again. I am so done with this one.

Michel de Nostredame, the French apothecary commonly known as Nostradamus, has gained a cult-like following, a loyal band of enthusiasts who credit him with predicting numerous world events - the Great Fire of London, the rise of Napoleon and Hitler, and the nuclear destruction of Hiroshima. However, his most important collection of prophetic verses has remained hidden...until now.

James says: "One of my favorite books of the year"
    "Enjoyable ride"
    Overall

This book is enjoyable and easy to listen to. A fun story with little depth. I was only dissappointed with 2 chapters where the audio just cuts off mid sentence and then continues on into the next chapter. Not having the words in front of me, I'm not sure what/if I missed anything. Since the story is simple, it ultimately did not effect the listen, just annoying.

Although a year has passed, not a day goes by without Meggie thinking of Inkheart, the book whose characters became real. But for Dustfinger, the fire-eater brought into being from words, the need to return to the tale has become desperate. When he finds a crooked storyteller with the ability to read him back, Dustfinger leaves behind his young apprentice Farid and plunges into the medieval world of his past.

    Vanessa says: "Inkspell indeed"
    "Naration excellent"
    Overall

When I read the reviews regarding the narrator I just had to put in my 2cents worth. As I started listening to this book with my kids, I thought Brendan is too quiet, too difficult to listen to. As he got into the story and started to give characters personality through voice I really started enjoying the book so much. I looked forward to each opportunity I had to listen to more. I enjoyed the narration thoroughly!

In a crowded courtroom in Mississippi, a jury returns a shocking verdict against a chemical company accused of dumping toxic waste into a small town's water supply, causing the worst "cancer cluster" in history. The company appeals to the Mississippi Supreme Court, whose nine justices will one day either approve the verdict or reverse it.

I really enoyed this book. It is typical Grisham with a twist. I never expected the ending to happen the way it did. I don't want to give anything away so I will stop here.

FBI Agent Pendergast has taken Constance on a whirlwind Grand Tour. They head to Tibet, where Pendergast intensively trained in martial arts and spiritual studies. At a remote monastery, they learn that a rare and dangerous artifact the monks have been guarding for generations has been stolen. Pendergast agrees to take up the search. The trail leads him and Constance to the maiden voyage of the Queen Victoria passenger liner - and to an Atlantic crossing fraught with terror.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. This is the first one that has just gone too fast. The story is entertaining and the narrator does a fabulous job.

When Dr. Craig Bowman is served with a summons for medical malpractice, he's shocked, enraged, and more than a little humiliated. A devoted physician who works continuously in the service of others, he endured grueling years of training and is now a partner in an exclusive concierge medical practice. No longer forced to see more and more patients while spending less and less time with each one just to keep his office door open, he now provides the kind of medical care he is trained to do.

I am historically a Robin Cook fan, but for some reason I did not enjoy this book. I cannot define whether it is the story or the narration, but I was, simply, not satisfied.

No one could have imagined Odd Thomas ever leaving the quirky comfort of Pico Mundo. Yet leave it he has, for a monastery. But Odd has a knack for finding trouble no matter where he goes, and a killer is stalking the ancient holy halls. Odd is about to meet an enemy who eclipses any he has yet encountered.

Travelgirl says: "Odds are you will LOVE this book!!!"
    "Brother Odd, good listening"
    Overall

I first enjoyed reading Odd Thomas, and decided to listen to Brother Odd. I really enjoyed this book, it kept me wanting to hear more. The narrator was quite good, and certainly fit in my minds "picture" of Oddy. What was most appealing to me, was that I believe I laughed at the dry humor more than I would have had I been reading the book. I really enjoyed listening to this one!
