In the present day, as the man-made apocalypse unfolds, three strangers navigate the chaos. Lila, a doctor and an expectant mother, is so shattered by the spread of violence and infection that she continues to plan for her child’s arrival even as society dissolves around her. Kittridge, known to the world as "Last Stand in Denver", has been forced to flee his stronghold and is now on the road, dodging the infected, armed but alone and well aware that a tank of gas will get him only so far. April is a teenager fighting to guide her little brother safely through a landscape of death and ruin.

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed the storyline and the characters, both new and old. I'm excited to read the last installment!!

Would you listen to another book narrated by Scott Brick?

Probably not. He is wonderful to a degree and has a great tone. My only issue with him was The Twelve is already a dramatic story at times, then you had in his over the top reading through some parts and it lost something. There were times I stopped listening at these moments and read the book then would go back to the audio. All in all I didn't mind it but at times he over dramatized the drama and it because comical instead of the intensity I think it deserved.

With indifferent parents, Iona Sheehan grew up craving devotion and acceptance. From her maternal grandmother, she learned where to find both: a land of lush forests, dazzling lakes, and centuries-old legends. Ireland. County Mayo, to be exact. Where her ancestors’ blood and magic have flowed through generations - and where her destiny awaits.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would. I love Nora Roberts and I'm loving the story. I love any of her books set in Ireland!

How could the performance have been better?

Oui! Any narrator would have been better. She was so dramatic about EVERYTHING. This is one I wish I had simply read on my own....and I love audio books!... Its too bad. If she reads the other two I won't be buying them here.

First, the unthinkable: a security breach at a secret U.S. government facility unleashes the monstrous product of a chilling military experiment. Then, the unspeakable: a night of chaos and carnage gives way to sunrise on a nation, and ultimately a world, forever altered. All that remains for the stunned survivors is the long fight ahead and a future ruled by fear—of darkness, of death, of a fate far worse.

What did you love best about The Passage?

I loved this book. The author can get very wordy and his descriptions can go on a little long... (the man loves an analogy!), but overall I loved this book! I read it last year and then when I saw the second book came out, I knew I had to "reread" this one before starting The Twelve!! So many details to remember!
