This book, and the series bring to mind the "Lord of the RIngs" series by Tolkien. The world is very detailed and interesting with mystery and suspense throughtout. The lives of the characters are intertwined in a fascinating way, and become friends of foes of the reader as well. Reading performance was amazingly done.
I enjoyed this thoroughly with the references to history, intrigue, and great description of locations and times. The character development is very good, and despite the fact that we are involved with demons, witches, and vampires, we have a connection throughout. The narration was excellent, with all different types of voices and accents used.
I loved it!
I was prepared to be disappointed in this book, but luckily I wasn't at all disappointed. The story was very well written, descriptive, and intriguing right away. I'm not usually a big vampire fan, but I found that the characters were so well developed that I didn't really think about them being different "creatures". Great fun!
Very unresolved. Nice, interesting story, but no ending. The story begins to develop and with the development of the characters, the listener expects some type of interesting ending, but the story ends abruptly.
The story was haunting, but at the end I was left with feeling that nothing was complete. Did not love this book. Perhaps future works will resolve more.
Kind of fun pirate adventure, but more like the impossible to believe swashbucklers of the past. Not up to the usual Cricheton quality.
THis book is a good listen, very descriptive, performance is very good. You feel as though you are actually in the story.
