  • Sex on the Brain: 12 Lessons to Enhance Your Love Life

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 21 mins)
    • By Daniel G. Amen
    • Narrated By Patrick Lawlor
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

As the largest and most sensitive sexual organ in the body, a healthy human brain enhances your sex life and heightens sensation. A troubled brain, however, makes emotional and physical connection with others difficult. So forget the implants, the fad diets, and the pills. Learning about this intriguing and sexy organ is the key to your sexual satisfaction.

Ronald Albury says: "Great book - for some"
    "Outstanding book"

Having successful relationships depends on factors in our control and factors out of our control. This book is interesting and thought provoking as it reveals how brain chemistry, dysfunctional patterns and previous brain injuries can at a minimum influence and at a maximum destroy even the most well intentioned relationship. The author's stated policy of having anyone who wants to date his daughters more than a few months undergo a brain scan shocked me a little at first, but as I learned more about all the "hard wired" issues that aren't visible, it makes a lot of sense. I struggled in a marriage for over 18 yrs with someone who had several damage factors in his history and despite counseling and now court intervention still has abuse patterns that he thinks are perfectly normal. Knowing that these issues on some levels are a permanent factor brings more compassion than anything else, along with the awareness that restricting conflict opportunities is a wise move.
Moving forward in my forties, knowing how positive and healthy a happy and active sex life is for both partners into what most consider too old for sex (70+!) is a pretty great bonus.
If you are looking for "how to" or something simple, probably not...but if you want to know more about what is happening behind the scenes and how to enhance your likelihood of great sex and strong relationships...highly recommended.

  • The Secret

    • UNABRIDGED (4 hrs and 27 mins)

It has been passed down through the ages, highly coveted, hidden, lost, stolen, and bought for vast sums of money. Fragments of this Great Secret have been found in the oral traditions, in literature, in religions and philosophies throughout the centuries. In this audiobook you will discover the Secret, and you will learn how to have, do, or be anything you want.

Elisabeth says: "Good for an intro to the Law of Attraction"
    "Good companion for the DVD"

I purchased the audio version a few weeks ago and enjoyed listening to it, but heard that the DVD was very different. After viewing the DVD, a lot of the content is exactly the same, but there are visual illustrations that will help you if you are more kinetic or visually receptive.

As far as this being some kind of silly vibe nonsense, having lived using these principles since about 1983, I can vouch for it being as effective as you are bold and patient enough to ask and take action on.

Even if it didn't produce dramatic results for many people, the shift in attitude and clarity produced by thinking this way make life more enjoyable and positive for everyone. Thankfulness, love and focusing on the good around us instead of the inconveniences are always going to produce a better life regardless of the circumstances.

Has "The Secret" made a difference in my life? I was diagnosed with infertility and have 6 amazing children. Several "incurable" diseases healed in my family. I've gone from visiting food banks and having my house in foreclosure 3 times to making about 3 times my areas average income and in the process of taking my company to a higher level now that my children are older.

I couldn't list the hundreds of small things that have just "shown up" ranging from a perfectly fitting wedding dress for $99 dollars that was the exact copy of a picture I'd torn out at age 16 and hadn't looked at until after the wedding when I was 20 to connections with people to household items I wanted or my children wanted.

  • The Art of Profitability

    • UNABRIDGED (5 hrs and 39 mins)
    • By Adrian Slywotzky
    • Narrated By Scott Mosenson, Jack Ong
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

The Art of Profitability reveals the invisible but important governing principles that can mean the difference between business failure and success. Each of the book's 23 chapters presents a lesson from the exuberant and always challenging master - and a profit paradigm that will open your mind to the many ways to make profit happen.

Brian says: "Read his other books"
    "Rich Content, Easy Listen"

This book is written and narrated in a very engaging style that takes the listener through 23 different profitability models. It weaves exercises for assimilating the concepts and learning more about each model with "assigned reading" given the fictional apprentice in the book. I'm a few months away from completing my MBA and am familiar with a lot of the material referenced, but have already added more "must reads" to my list. I'm an entrepreneur and my companies have been lucrative, but picked up a few new tactics and ways of looking at things that will make my next venture even better. Can't attend business school right now? Get this book and do the work assigned the apprentice and you will be getting the core info you need to succeed.
