If you haven't listen/read the first book, Prelude, don't get this one. It would be too confusing. While the first book was excellent, this was not. The story line was hard to follow at times and some of the material didn't make a lot of sense in light of the first book. I was excited to read this book but it didn't just stand up to the first book. It is Ok but not great.
I will probably listen to the third book in the series.
I think he does good on the male voices, maybe not as good on the females. I often wish they had two readers for a book, one a male and the other a female. I like to listen while I am doing something else, like walking the dog or doing a hobby, you can't read.
Not overly, but it is fine, the first book definitely is worth it, hopefully the third book in the series will be.
Interesting educational book
Yes, a lot of interesting facts
He is fine but I am not sure he brought anything more than anyone else
I could have done that, but I didn't.
This is definitely worth listening to.
Someone you wants to read an autobiography of PJ O'Rourke
Sadness, I love PJ O'Rourke's work and this just wasn't very good.
This is an autobiographical work of PJ ORourke life as a child and college student, that is all. Yes it is funny at times, but it is many something some aging babyboomer writes in his diary. I was very disappointed, since Mr. ORourke may write goofy stuff but it is funny, this is mostly his remembrance of his early life. Sorry PJ but this is just not anywhere up to your usual stuff, I wasted one of my audible credits on this and several hours waiting to get to the good part, that never came, even if your college life was a lot more interesting than mine.
Make it shorter
It was not nearly as good as London.
Jean did fine, no problem on the reading.
This was a pretty good book until the end, very weak ending. Worth buying but it is not likely to the best book you have gotten from audible. The author is new so as a first try this worked out well for him. The performer did a good job of reading the book.
Probably not, but then I don't go to many movies, if it was free on a plane flight I might watch it.
I am a big Winston Churchill fan so I thought this would be good. I was mistaken. It probably appeals to a certain segment that would have been glued to the recent English wedding, but if you are a normal guy there are better books to pick. I think the reader does a good job, but the material is hard to take.
It is an acceptable book with some interesting parts. This is probably a better read than listen to book.
I guess if you are into Henry and Cromwell this might not be too bad, but it is very confusing. I don't think I will finish it. I won't get it, sorry I bought it.
The only problem I had with this is that I wanted to listen to it too much and didn't do other things I needed to accomplish. This action packed thriller is Jack Reacher and Lee Child's at their best.
I am almost done, maybe not the best Ken Follett, but still very good. The reader does a good job with the various accents. It is an interesting book, worthwhile getting.
