I bought this book because I thought it would be just what I needed to fall to sleep to. Not a good idea! The first part of the book was so funny, I had to stiffle my laughter to keep from waking my husband. Pet owners will love it. And in spite of the humor, Stephen King delivers his usual magic by warping the story into weirdness by the end.
This is the best produced audio book I've every listened to. Stephen King's narration wonderful and the music is haunting. Listening to this one gives you something more than you could get just reading the book. It's also one of the scariest books I've read/listened to in a while. I dare you to listen to the last hour or two alone in the dark.
The book sounds interesting from the description, but I couldn't listen to it because the narrator's voice grated on my ears so badly. Imagine an elderly English woman with a high-pitched, nasal voice and affected upper-class accent who sounds like her corset's too tight and you get the picture.
